I bought this a week ago and I'm absolutely in love! I'm 54 and take pretty good care of my skin. I always remove makeup before bed, moisturize, use Vit C, low levels of retinal, occassional facials etc . . . With the recent cold weather snap the humidity levels at work and at home have been consistently in the low 20's and I was honestly getting somewhat depressed with the appearance of my skin. I felt like I had aged 10 years in the past few months. What the heck????? I started throwing every product I had in my arsenal to add back some moisture including another brand of facial oil with no effect. I was looking at some laser options to try to add back some life to my face. While researching, I stumbled across a link for Clarins facial treatment oils and decided to give this one a try. Wow!!!! what a difference! within a week, my fine lines are improved and my skin looks fresher and plumper.I've seen many comments on the smell of this oil but I actually like it. It is somewhat strong at first, but is nice and 'herbally' and very fresh. The scent fades quickly though it does not totally disappear - which I like. My husband comments that he also likes the smeIl of it, and I find it lingers slightly on my bed linens which is an added bonus!!!If you are aging and find that your skin is dry, and lack-luster - I recommend giving this one a try. I will definitely try other Clarins products in the future!

Not sure if it's the authentic one due the differences in color, aroma, and texture of the oil.I've been using Clarin's face treatment oil for a few years and happened to find it at Amazon for a much lower price. After opening the bottle, I notice the texture of oil is thicker than what I got from Clarin's store. After spreading on my palm, I notice a "mineral oil like" smell while the signature aroma lacks a light fresh note. After putting on my face, I noticed that the absorption is way poorer than what I've been using for years and it leaves a mild shine and greasy look. Usually the oil got absorbed into my skin within a min or two and my skin feels refreshing. But this one does not work this way and I've had dried and irritated skin on my cheeks, which never happened to me with any Clarins products.I just went to the store and got a brand new bottle of the same kind. After putting them side by side and testing on my skin, I am very sure the quality of the oil I got from Amazon is not what I've been getting from Clarin's store. I am not sure if it's the oxidation of the product ingredient, expiration date or simply a batch effect. But I am very sure that I will not buy this product at Amazon again unless it's from Clarins.

I have used much more expensive oils (like Sunday Riley and drunk elephant) but nothing is as good as this. It hydrates the skin well but not overly so. I would say it is a medium thickness/heaviness. I can see a difference if I skip it for a couple days, my skin will start flaking and breaking out. I generally only use this at night, if I feel like I need it in the daytime I will mix it with a primer (like 4-5 drops). Not that it wouldn't be good under makeup but I like dewy foundations and it can go greasy face kind of quick when used full strength. For reference I have dry skin that is acne prone.

I live in the Northeast and with the heat on in rough winter months, your skin, especially your face area can suffer from dehydration. Makeup starts to look cakey, skin cracked or feel rough. This face oil really helps keep skin hydrated during rough winter months. Dab it on, let it dry then apply your normal moisturizer at day or night or both (depends how dry your skin is) and you will not be disappointed. A little goes a long way. I would not recommend for oily skin. I'm in my 40's and have a regular skin regimen.

This is definitely the real deal! K just received it in the mail and compared it to the little bit I have left that I bought at Ulta. It's the same consistency, color, smell,and feel. I'm so tickled I got it for twenty bucks cheaper!! I have been using this oil three years now for my extremely dry skin. Nothing else works like this product! I've tried others but as my skin has gotten increasingly dry over the past couple years, I've found this to be the most moisturizing. I use it twice a day. My husband and I love patchouli so I'm happy with the scent. I'm looking for a cream to use in conjunction with it. But alone it's been great. I apply it about 5 minutes before makeup but I only use blush and highlighter on my face. It makes my skin dewy and supple.

Absolutely adore this product. Very strong patchouli scent. Great overnight oil. Have seen improved moisture in face with this product and reduction of fine lines. Clarins cosmetician suggested adding a drop or two to night/day creams in super dry weather. I live in very humid conditions so have not tried. Be aware of the super strong scent if you are sensitive to smells. But other than that it is the perfect overnight oil!!

I really like this oil. Living in an extremely dry climate I depend on moisturizers and this is a good one.

The only noticeable impact this had on my face was to cause a small spot on my forehead very disappointed, I have been a loyal Clarins fan for 5 years but this, coupled with the really poor performance of the new serum, has persuaded me to look elsewhere

I've used this product for about 5 years. I absolutely adore it. My skin smells and feels amazing after I use it. Simpy the best serum ever!

apart from spilling two of these making this like liquid gold, this applied nightly under a night cream made my skin look and feel like velvet. Imm building up confidence to buy a third , but its heart breaking this isn't spillproof. Which would make it good value!

Felt too heavy on my skin and made me breakout I don't seem to get on with Clarins oils as I had the same reaction from trying out Clarins Lotus which is supposed to be a lighter version.

I’ve been using this oil under my moisturiser for nearly 10 years. It is wonderful. Just a couple of drops pressed onto the face snd it helps the moisturiser sink in.Lovely smelling too.
