Great race radio
Just finished a weekend using these radios for race communications. Loud and clear most time, even with terrain between the pits and the course. So easy to use, batteries lasted all day long with regular calls back and forth. Radio is mounted on center of dash within full cage and transmits/receives just fine. We are using a harness from Samson Racing Communications and it all worked just as advertised. These are MURS radios, no license required, 2 Watt. We had no interference and more than enough power.

This rugged, no-display UHF two-way radio delivers 2 watts of power across 4 channels
Simple non-display design with programmable buttons, voice prompts, channel scan, and VOX hands-free. Li-Ion battery lasts 15+ hours on a charge. it's survived drops, rain, and dusty conditions without a hitch. The metal die-cast chassis feels solid and professional. Powerful 1500mW speaker cuts through high-noise areas clearly, with minimal feedback. Price is kind of high.

We purchased these radios to work in farm machinery along with the Two-Wire Surveillance Mic for Motorola CP200 Empire. The radios have worked well and we've had no difficulty transmitting from inside the cab of one tractor over rough terrain to another operator inside the cab of another tractor 1/2 a mile a way. The radios seem well built and have held a charge for 8 hrs at a time. The only difficulty we've had is that one of the pins for the microphones that we plug in so we can hear from the earphone seems a bit loose which causes static. A rubber band around the radio and the microphone pin solved the problem but I'm not sure if the difficulty is with the radio or the pin from the mic.

Great!
This is an awesome product. It worked great. My only comment is if you’re working with a 44 ton diesel locomotive I’d recommend a headset or loudspeaker to connect with it.

Nice coverage for outdoors communications!
We bought a few of these to handle field operations in a Farm. The farm is for crops and pretty open with a few tree wind barriers and a couple of 100 ft tall hills. The radios work nicely!! the farthest point we have communicated are about 2.5 miles and no problems as long as you are outdoors. If you get in the truck or inside an office they will not work. They look pretty well built. If I have time will update later on battery durability...

Totally worthless Amazon won't accept a return after 30 days of purchase
I'm trying to replace my old XTN radios to a more available and compatible radios. These radios definitely are no up to the task. The program of the radios didn't improve from the XTN generation on the contrary they just make it worse. The radios are loud but not clear. The XTN radios were crystal clear although you couldn't hear them at a long distance but the radios are supposed to be at close range to you. I bought 4. 2 in February and 2 in May. All of them are failing now. The radios started to transmit with interruption. At the beginning I thought it was a programing glitch. I reprogram the radios (A tedious task). With no luck. I tried to return them to Amazon. But they only accept return only up to 30 days after the purchase. I contacted Motorola. After 4 hours of technical education they decided the radios are faulty. And they sent me back to Amazon. Amazon just will not accept a return. I'm stuck with 4 worthless radios and almost $2000.00 (I bought the charger) short. What a waste.
