Eastern Feast - Large Lima Beans, 2 Lbs (907g)

Results in LARGE beans, averaging 2 inch long when cooked, Delicious!

After I left these out to soak, I rinsed them and noticed a black spot on one. When I scraped at it with my fingernail, a little black beetle or weevil or something came out. I then looked closer and found several more just in the first few I broke in half, and I could see dark spots beneath the skin in others. Grossed out, I threw them away. I had bought two bags, so I opened the next one and let them soak. No bugs that I could find in that one, but when I cooked them up they never softened all the way, despite preparing them the way I always do, and they tasted kind of bitter and dusty, so I threw them away too. I’m guessing they don’t store their beans properly or throw away expired product. Very disappointing.

These made great baked limas with tomatoes, chicken broth, bacom, etc....creamy and we loved them! I will order again!

Dry large lima beans aren't available in my rural town, so i rely on online sources with mixed results. These beans are huge, plump, and gorgeous, a pleasure to behold. They cook up creamy and delicious in my slow cooker, a fitting companion to smoked ham, although they would be worthy of star billing on their own.

Found 4 weevils and many beans with weevils holes. Had to throw out a cup of bad beans. Not too many broken. Mostly bug spots. Parboiled the good ones and slow cooked the others. Still hard after 8 hours. Bitter tasting also. A waste of good money on pricey beans, bacon and electricity.

These Beans are beautiful but have no staying power when cooked. They get mushy fast. Good for hummus or a dip recipe, just blend up and add spices.

These are nice and fresh lima beans and easy to cook... Tastes great. That was the first bag but the second bag was old and stale with black spots in the center. Also, many stayed hard. Will not buy again.
