Q: What is the difference between this one and the one that is $10 cheaper? With the update does the Bluetooth have the capability to be disabled?

As mentioned by other customers the Bluetooth is inactive until you switch to Bluetooth mode. The chipset is updated with the latest Bluetooth model that supports Qualcomm aptX HD. Added a subwoofer out with auto-detect crossover. And a much more user friendly remote control. In a nutshell it is definitely worth the $10 difference.

Q: Does it require active or passive subwoofer ok to get decent bass (rock/metal) ?

Not at all. Plenty of low end for rock and metal which is my thing. Does not need a sub unless you just want a massive amount of bass. But for metal who needs all that fluf

Q: Can you please update the dimensions of the speakers? The listing shows the package dims vs product dims.

6"Wx10"Hx8"D (top is 7"D). They are wedge-like shape. It creates the illusion the speakers are "laid-back." The mesh covering comes off to show off the woofer & tweeter.

Q: Can i connect this speaker to Fluance RT81??

Yes, you can. Since the RT81 has a built-in preamp, it can connect directly to these speakers.
