This replaces a larger and bulkier mandolin that had become dull, it’s the dull ones that are dangerous. I first used it a couple of days ago and I am impressed so far. It’s easy to store, easy to handle and the blade is super sharp. I used it to slice potatoes and it worked beautifully.I like how I can lay it over the top of a bowl so the veggies can drop into it. There are spaces cut out of the bottom that go over the edge of the bowl to help keep the slicer in place. The piece that grips the veggie and allows you to protect your hand is a must to use. It is easy to use and feels comfortable in my hand. The handle is designed well also, it too, is comfortable to hold.This is not nearly as heavy as the cumbersome slicer it replaced and I am very happy about that. It’s a very simple design that works really well.

We hosted a 15 person Thanksgiving meal and this was a great solution for our homemade au gratin potatoes. It cleaned up easily, was sturdy, had good thickness settings, felt safe to use. The ONLY reason this lost a star is because the blade seemed chipped after only one use. Obviously we were just cutting potatoes and didn’t even put it through the dishwasher so that was a bit concerning and confusing but otherwise did the trick

We cook for two and have a larger mandolin, but it is hard to clean and bulky. Sometimes we just want to slice a few things for a salad or quick meal. Enter this little gem. Want to slice a few carrots very thin? Or a potato for oven baked chips? Give me a minute and its done. And it is a breeze to wash off for the next time. Only negative is the holder to secure the object to be cut. It does not dig into hard veggies, so it is almost useless. So, does that makes it unsafe? Buy some cut resistant gloves (less than $10 on Amazon) and go to town. I don't even use the holder anymore. Disclaimer--use common sense and be safe. The sharpness is what makes it work so well!

It’s smaller than I thought but perfect for any veggie you can throw at it. I even used it for cabbage to make sauerkraut and I shredded the entire head in about 60 seconds. Now that I think about it, the small footprint is nice for a cluttered kitchen. The safety in it is a very nice feature and it has 3 levels of thickness. Well made product!

I'm very happy with this purchase! It's easy to use, cuts evenly, and feels sturdy. Perfect for quick slicing without the hassle. Great buy!

Love, love, love this item. I use it regularly for cheese, tomatoes, onions, carrots, peppers, hard boiled eggs, etc. etc. Biggest problem is that it is so sharp that if you are not careful and paying attention, you will cut yourself badly. I do not find the piece provided, that is supposed to be used when the food item gets really small to prevent cuts, useful with the design of the mandolin so I rarely can use it.

This inexpensive mandoline slicer is goid quality for the price. Works well, the 3 slice widths were suitable for my needs. The comfort grip handle prevents slipping. I believe it would be useful for people with arthritis or hand issues. Cleans easily. Cons: it's rather small compared to standard mandoline slicers, narrow. The slicing area is maybe 3" wide, 7.5cm. Medium onion max. Good for compact kitchens, storing in a drawer or RV use. The same design, wider, would earn 5 stars, for the price-point.
