I have shaved 65+ years with a razor blade because electric shavers didn't agree with my sensitive skin, but several years ago, I developed essential tremor, (inherited) and started nicking my face because my hand shook so much so I had to find an alternate method. I did have a small Braun portable AA cell hand-held foil model that worked well but I figured I'd try a well-known triple head razor and bought one for $84 plus. Tried it and hated it so I returned it. This last Christmas i tried the Braun model S3 Pro foil razor for $63.00 and I love it. You can wash it under hot running water (which I do after about 3-4 shaves) or use it in the shower with w/out shaving creme, (which I don't). It is rechargeable, has a side trimmer that works, and has $15.00 replacement heads. This razor fits in the hand well, and each charge lasts long enough for at least several shaves. To help with my sensitivity skin issue I use Williams Lectric shave and that lets the razor slide smoothly over my face. If you bought this Braun S3 Pro razor, you'll love it.

I have always been happy with Braun razors in the past, and this razor is what I expected. I have used this razor for about a month. These are the pros and cons I have foundThe rubber grip around the razor really helps me hold it secure. I have trouble with hand strength, but this razor is just wide enough. I have no problem holding it.The battery holds a great amount of run time per charge. I got 14 shaves out of one charge. It took 1 hour to charge.The built-in trimmer is nice. The shaver works great. Nice clean shave. What I always expect from a Braun razor. The razor head is easy to remove and clean.The only thing different in this razor from the other's that I have owned, is it doesn't have a travel mode like my past Braun razors. I have always worried about the razor turning on somehow in my luggage when I travel. The razor does come with a head protector that does cover the power button, and the button is recessed enough where I don't think it will be a problem.

I purchased this because of carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand, making it difficult to shave with gel and a razor as I have done for many years. The shaver is easy to use, easy to clean and gives a decent shave though not as good as a razor. I’m very pleased with my purchase overall.

I'm kicking myself for suffering with my Remington PF7500 for so many years. Even with a new foil and cutters, a shave after 2-3 days of growth was very slow and painful. This Braun 3040s is in a completely different league. It cruises through 2-3 days of growth quickly and painlessly. Daily shaves are trivial now.I only use it with a dry face or with a splash of Williams Lectric Shave, so I can't comment on how well it performs for a wet shave. To clean it I just take the head off and tap it inside the sink. I don't yet know how long the batteries last but it's gone 2 weeks since I initially charged it. As others have mentioned the batteries are not lithuim, they're NiMH, which I actually prefer in this application. They're more abuse resistant and are user replaceable.
