I was pleasantly surprised with how entertained I was with this pill cutter. It works great, the design is very simple to figure out, and the fact that it has a small compartment to store the other half of the pill so you don't go fishing it out of your prescription bottle really is a small detail that I appreciate. It clamps shut on use so its very safe and easy to use for basically any age, and after using it daily for a few weeks, it hasn't fallen apart or shown really any signs of wear and tear. If it ever stops being up to the task, I'll probably just get the exact same one again.

I took a risk but happy I did. My pills do not have a prescored line so hoped for the best. Works great! And I had to cut some in 4th. Tricks... Pick up the cutter to close it - not just push the top down. To cut a pill in 1/4. Cut in half first then put BOTH in the cutter - situated like it was whole pill still. Then cut again.

This is good for splitting pills, I used it to cut the flea tablets for my foster kitty in half. It’s works but the downfall is that there is a opening or hole at the end and I didn’t realize that so I lost half of one of the pills before I realized the pills could fall out :/ it would be nice is it was enclosed so you could store the other half of the pills if you don’t need them

I purchased this pill splitter because I have several large pills that were not easy for me to swallow. Cutting the pills in half makes them easier to swallow. This pill cutter is well designed and works as advertised. I am happy with my purchase.

This little device to split pills in half is essential for dose adjustment when there is no small dose on the market. It’s effective and easy to use.

The pill will be cut! I have five sizes and this unit cuts them all. The unit is plastic with an embedded razor knife attached to one of the two piece clamshell. The unit opens by placing your fingers at the "button" end of the unit. You will feel two "bumps" AKA "bosses". Place a thumb on one boss and index finger of the same hand and push your fore finger against the other boss while pushing the thumb in the other direction. By this slight twisting motion the clamshell will open. Don't use much force as the unit may go flying. The blade should be in the UP portion of the clamshell. Directly below the blade is where the pill is positioned. Lower the blade until it contacts the pill. Then move you fingers out of the clamshell and while holding the bottom portion of the clamshell with one hand, lower the blade to cut the pill with the other. The cut is very smooth when the cutter is first used. As it ages it will become dull. Time for a new unit as the blade is not replaceable. This is my first time with this unit. It is OK but cuts only one pill at a time. I am interested in how long until I need to change the blade. It does the job though! If they provided a small plastic holder where you could place this unit into it to hold it, it would help the design a lot. It is hard to get a big hand around the unit. If it could clip into a 4" square x .0625" thick plastic base it would allow the unit to be held firmly by one hand as the other cuts the pill. There would be no "skidding across the table" when the unit gets away from you. The unit is very affordable IF the cutter does stay sharp for a long time. The design and price are correct for its performance.

Bought to cut my dog’s medication in half to save money by buying the larger dose (5mg) and cut in half (2.5mg) for his weight/size. The 5mg pill is huge but this pill cutter accommodates the extra large pill. Love it.

This is the second pill cutter I have ordered, and I will NOT be returning this one. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the pill 'holder' doesn't work great with the square sideways cut I have to make on mine. However, when I align it perfectly, it cuts great! No more crushed pills!
