Blind

the one COC that stands out alone as the one and only of it's kind!!
the album that introduced me to COC-I head of them but never knowingly heard their music/till dance of the dead video.then I bought the blind cd.they seamed to be a hidden talent but then finding they had a hardcore/punk start which I like both but not their brand, but blind was had thunderous metal sound wow this is heavy and different. I found this was a rebuilding album and band members the singer, the bass player and the newest leader the 2nd guitarist pepper keenan soon to be the face& main writer of the band after vote with a bullet song/video.This was a smooth, tremendously heavy and powerful mixture of raw and violent music, a mixture of all before them that was great and burial of their old school hardcore/punk albums(eye for an eye,6 songs, technocracy and Animosity cds) a fresh orignal sounding start with the power of black Sabbath, fury of thrash metal and the difference musically between them and everyone else, but if I remember they opened for pantera with white zombie for a U.S. tour,if memory serves me that a tour of birds of a different feather flocking together, each being stars in a few years but very different styles.this cd has a place in musical history for me possibly before all other coc cds because it stand strong and true and yet alone 20 years old and never re-attempted.then next albums Deliverance & Wiseblood were not even in blinds neighborhood each cd having great songs but you wouldn't expect the same band to record these two cd and blind.

1 of COC's best albums ever.Must own
This album remains on rotation in my player all the time, such a great transition from their punk days(although good this puts it in another direction) The album has a great singer in my opinion, altho his career with COC was short-lived because Pepper took over on vocals on their following albums(Deliverance,Wiseblood,Americas Volume Dealer,In the Arms of God) i love the range on the album. Songs like Echoes in the Well and Break the Circle are hauntingly beautiful. Vote with a Bullet(peppers intro to vocals) Dance of the Dead is so great the vocals are some of the best. One of COC's best albums ever. Songs like Shallow Ground,White Noise,Damned for all Time,&Jim Beam & the Coon's A**. The best guitar and bass levels i have ever heard since Americas Volume such great lyrical and vocal range. The drums are hard hitting and i just cannot get over how well produced the album is.Check it out it is one of their best, get a good look at their transition & progression.

Unique in COC's oeuvre and a jewel of 90s metal
Blind occupies a curious space in the career of Corrosion of Conformity. It's either the metal tail to their punk/thrash crossover 80s period, or it's the hardcore beginnings to their Southern metal 90s period. Figure in the absence of departed Mike Dean (who would shortly thereafter rejoin) and the sole appearances of bassist Phil Swisher and singer Karl Agell, and Blind sticks out in their catalog from whichever direction you view it.And stick out it should. It's quite simply one of the most devastating metal albums ever created. From Karl Agell's haunting, Ozzy-like scream, to the absolutely perfect production (particularly of Reed Mullin's superb and varied drum work and Swisher's bass), I don't think there's a dull moment on this album, thematically encapsulated by "These Shrouded Temples . . . Remain."While COC would eventually go overboard with the light interludes on Deliverance, "Shallow Ground" here perfectly bridges the eastern-tinged speed metal of "Mine are the Eyes of God" and the heavy distortion of "Vote with a Bullet." Yes, that's a real song name on the album! The sheer severity of COC's left-wing lyrical content reaches its zenith here; in subsequent albums it would largely take a backseat to Pepper Keenan's inscrutable "poetics."In every way - lyrics, production, riffs, solos (which never come close to over-the-top guitar heroics but remain more drawn and sorrowful), vocals, and drumming in particular, Blind is a complete metal masterpiece, almost shamefully under-recognized for its contribution to the metal mind.(Having never owned the CD version, I can't speak to the three bonus tracks.)

These shrouded temples....
If your a CoC fan this is a must have. Not as good as Deliverance or Wiseblood but worth owning. There are some live staples here.

coc rock
I've never been a huge fan of Corrosion of conformity, but I decided to become one. Of course I know 'Vote with a bullet' as one of their best songs. This album really rocks and thrashes. It's good for any metal fan, nevertheless it's very stylish, different kind of music that you never mix up with the other band. The price is rather low, there are some bonus tracks and packaging is all right. Just buy. Never regret. By the way don't forget about their WISEBLOOD album!

Love this album
Love this album. Only had a live album and wiseblood previously, but this was a lot heavier in places than those two. Best c.o.c album I've heard so far. Dare I say that the singer on this album Karl agell is a better singer than pepper?!? Maybe! Highly recommended. Service quick and CD worked fine after a quick clean of the disk.
