I was a little worried at first when I opened the package. The compass was not reading right at all. I soon realized that the internal wheel was not on the bearing. After flipping the compass upside down, shaking a little and flipping it back, I got the wheel back on the bearing. I suspect that many people who have had trouble with this compass where experiencing the same problem with readings. Now I am very happy with the way this compass works. The fluid inside has just the right viscosity to give a stable reading on my giggly kayak. As I have no magnetic interference issue in my application, I was able to zero the deviation adjustments. Also, easy to read numbers and letters at four feet distance.

It's hard to think of one thing this compass does well. It doesn't stick to anything, it only shows one direction, no instructions on it's use or how to set declination. It just a piece of crap. The only reason I didn't send it back was I didn't want to deal with the headache of dealing with a company that would send out a piece of crap like this in the first place.

Have had less than a year and quit working. No impact or any damage was done to it. Just went off balance like something inside broke.

The dial moves very slow in the winter --when your car warms up, it moves freely, as it should! Great product for the price. I might get another one to put on the shelf for a spare.

In my kitchen I can get it to point just fine. When I take it to the car and put it in the dash it never moves more that a 1/8 of a turn. meaning it doesn't point in the right direction. I have only had them (yes we bought 2) a couple weeks and still working on trying to find a spot that it may work in the car. maybe a magnet in the car is messing with things. I do not know. haven't given up hope but my 2016 car(s) dash is not the place for it YET.

Very upset. It didn’t show an accurate heading whatsoever. When holding at an angle, the dome with the numbers on it gets stuck on the clear acrylic dome and stops moving. Total waste of money. Returning.

Compass is useless for anything other that a decoration. I could not calibrate it to read within 45 degrees of correct heading.

Works great and now I know where I'm going....

Compass did not work! My last purchase from AMazon.

Worked great fir couple weeks but then no longer accurate

Total waste. Finds North about as accurately as a weather forecast these days.
