This book is so helpful in learning to play!
I bought my husband a Venova for Christmas and I felt compelled to buy the music book too. He uses it every day and it's really helping him to learn to play his new Instrument!

Excited, But Discouraged
I was excited to get a seemingly simple "Sax-sounding" instrument that was finger Ed like the recorders I love to play. However, I found it was VERY exhausting and hard to blow enough to get sufficient and good sound out. The promo videos made it look very easy--but it's NOT! There were, however, positives about it: 1. Small size & light weight 2. Easy fingering 3.Good Instruction Book included 4. Sturdy case 5. Code for website for several popular (yet simple) MELODIES with "Cloud" & downloading options 6. Website with instructional (visual/non-verbal) videos that coincide with the included Instruction Manual, AND 7. It DOES sound like a saxophone--IF you blow hard enough! It's about 50/50 whether I'd recommend it or not. IF you have been playing BRASS / REED wind instruments already, I'll bet this would be fun and much easier to play...thus, probably a 5-Star⭐ for very experienced musicians. But, for NON-REED Woodwind players like myself (where a LOT of lung power is NOT required), I'd give it a 2-Star⭐. Subsequently, I gave it the average of around 3-Star⭐. I plan to keep it and work myself up to being able to blow hard enough (without getting dizzy) to eventually, hopefully enjoy it one day)!

Explica muy bien pero, solo muestra ejercicios y ejemplos de las primeras notas del instrumento. No cubre el registro del instrumento. Deberían de sacar una segunda parte que cubra el registro completo del instrumento.

Only Book available for the Venova
Book appears to be a little more complete than the "Lets Play Venova" guide that came with the instrument. But not much. Several of the images are straight out of the guide that came from Yamaha. The E-book does not appear to have the code for the videos on the Hal Leonard website. Returned the ebook to order a paper copy. Probably a lot more to be learned from watching videos on saxophones and recorders.

Some nice tunes...
Has some fun songs in the proper keys for the Venova. As a saxophone veteran I skipped most of the fundamentals though so I can't speak for those sections. If you don't need the fundamentals and have the fingering charts, you might be able to get away with finding your own music online, but if you want to be lazy and get some songs selected specifically for the Venova, well, here you are. This worked for the Alto Venova too, for the most part :)

There is little information about how to hold the instrument, install reeds and how to get any noise out of it. Left me very frustrated until I asked my daughter-in-law, who is a music teacher, how to set it up and make noise. If you can do those things you might be better served with one of the many recorder instruction series.

Utile per imparare a suonare il Venova. È in inglese e francese.
