PHANTOM Visual Land Phatom 4.3-Inch High Definition Touchscreen Media Player (Black)

I've had bad luck in the past with MP3 players, particularly the ones with 4.3" screens. But I finally struck gold with this one! EVERYTHING woks fantastically well on it. Keep in mind, though, that it's not the kind of touch screen most people are used to. Most people are used to capacitive screens, but this is a resistive screen. Capacitive is what iPhones, tablets, etc. use, but resistive is what things like the Nintendo DS line and Wii U use. This is by no means a fancy device, and it can't play any games (that I'm aware of), but it's great for music and video, and it even has a mini HDMI port if you want to connect it to a TV. The 8 GB capacity is great, and you technically have an infinite capacity if you're armed with a case full of Micro SD cards. :) The menu is easy to navigate, and the sound/video quality is as good as you can possibly hope for. Definitely a great purchase!

This is by far the worse mp3 player that I could have purchased. The LCD screen goes out within an instant, the function capabilities on this device do not function correctly once it malfunctions. I have tried to replace this product 4 times already and the last time I received this product from repairs, it did not work at all. It was completely unable to work!!! I want a full refund of my money back from Amazon or I will consistently give this product a bad name and warn many others to never purchase this product at all.

A rather decent device for the price; however, it's touch screen navigation leaves much to be desired. If you attempt to make a selection from the memory's library, and select the wrong item, you have to start the process from the beginning (which defeats the purpose of an easy navigation touch screen).

Media player does not come with wall charger as stated in another review i read. I either charge it on my laptop or I plug the USB cord into my iphone wall charger and it charges just fine. Touch screen is not very responsive. You have to push icons either hard or multiple times for it to go to another screen. The radio comes thru with static. But i havent really played with the radio enough to see if I can pick up some stations. I have downloaded 6 movies and a few songs on it. I bought this media player for my 10 year old nephew to see how responsible he was with it before buying him an ipad. The media player does show crystal clear the movies and sound quality is good when listening with headphones

I purchased this media player as a work tool as I work with developmentally disabled Individuals, The product itself is great, touchscreen can be calibrated, video clarity image is wonderful, Sound is great whether u have head phones on or u use built in speaker.The player feels solid in your hands! Only downside is after 3 months of daily use the screen went blank contacted visual land by email as no phone number was available and 2 weeks later have not heard back from them. So final words, product is wonderful when working, customer support horrible!

This was a surprise for my 2.5 year old daughter. She loves to listen to music and look at photos and gawk at electronics. This allows her to do all three without blaring her music through our sound system, and we don't have to sit there with her to flip through the photos for her either! I looked at a lot of options, and I am so glad I made this choice. The music player does random, but the photo viewer does not. Still, she can listen to music while looking at a slideshow of pictures without help once we start it for her. An annoyance for us has turned into a bonus: the touchscreen is not very sensitive. It makes selecting things difficult, but keeps her from stopping or closing a program just carrying it around. In fact, I have yet to see her press hard enough to manipulate it at all. Since she doesn't know how to start things on her own, not hearing the "Mommy Help!" cry every 30 seconds like we do when she uses our cell phones is great! Some answers to questions I had that I couldn't find in other reviews: it does have a microphone with reasonable volume (but not excellent quality). You can charge it via a provided USB cable, but not with the type that is accepted by most of today's cell phones, although I think it might be the kind that went with cell phone models a few years ago (I can't find one to test this theory, sorry). Not only does it not allow for a random slideshow, but it also doesn't remember where you were in the show if you go out and come back in - so you always start at the beginning. This is made more annoying by the fact that it's not that easy to navigate through the pictures quickly, thanks to the odd interface and the low-level responsiveness of the touchscreen. The size, brightness of the screen, and features all make this ideal for my daughter and should be for many years to come. Electronics in this price range typically don't have a lifespan much over 2-3 years, but I'm crossing my fingers this one lasts until the pre-teen years! So far I have no reason to doubt that it's possible. It seems solidly built, powers on quickly, and there's no lag to anything. Really a great purchase for our needs.

For the price of this mp3 player I was impressed with it. I've had it a few months and no problems. Tends to be slow to respond and the touch screen has slight problems doing what I want but really for the price its great. Battery life lasts for over 8 hours while I play my music at work and still shows 2 bars. I have dropped it a few times at work on a concrete floor and no damage. I would recommend this player

Do not waste your money! I thought it might be too good to be true and I was right sadly. This item was purchased for our 10 year old as an alternative to a pricey iPod Touch. We have the had the device for less than 24 hours and we are returning it today. The touch-screen mechanism doesn't function properly. When you attempt to select a song or application, it sometimes takes multiple tapping for it to perform the function you requested. Additionally, when you are scrolling through the list of songs or any other list, instead of allowing you to continuously scroll, it regularly selects items you didn't want while attempting to scroll. It is extremely frustrating. The only pros to this device - surprisingly good picture/video quality, and relatively good sound quality. If you can get beyond the scrolling issues - and unintentionally selecting items you didn't want, then you should buy this item. My concern was that if the touch-screen was already malfunctioning while it was brand new, how poorly would it function after a few months of owning the device? I would not recommend you buy this product. Spend the money, get the iPod Touch. That's what we plan on doing.
