Roadmaster 522 All Terrain Tow Bar

We tried tow dollying a car, but not being a spring chicken it was hard crawling around to chain the car up and unchain...especially in the rain or snow. This was a big investment, but boy are we glad to go this route! Soooooo much easier and faster to hook and unhook the on the road. Pricey, but worth it for the convenience. Excellent quality, and shipped fast. We used a separately purchased baseplate kit on our Jeep, but this comes with a bar setup you can bolt to the front of the vehicle you want to tow if you wish. This hooks up so fast to the baseplate and is very sturdy. The fact you don't have to be inline straight and level to hitch up is wonderful! We debated whether to spend up to get that feature. So glad we did! It mounts to the motorhome well, and the rotate to stow is cool. Had to buy separately a cover for the tow bar when stowed, electric cables and chain cables for the toad.

Bought this all terrain to replace my 10 year old (twice rebuilt) Falcon 2. Works great and allows me to hook up and release without my tow vehicle being perfectly level. The channels for the lines are sort of worthless if you use a curled safety cable and electrical hook up. Although my air line may fit okay. But the channels do give you a place to secure everything so nothing drags on the ground. Fit the old baseplate perfectly although this came with a new baseplace, pits, etc.

Excellent product. I was able to hitch and unhitch my toad without being perfectly straight behind the hitch. 08/24/2017 Update: FYI, I had a bit of trouble getting the locking pins out at then end of my second trip (two weeks, 3400 miles). I bought a teflon lubricant spray and used it on all parts including the extension arms. My last trip it worked without binding. Keep it lubed with something that does not attracted dirt. The teflon lube spray seemed to work well.

Great tow bar easy to use and appears very sturdy.

Not much I can say here. I wish for the money that it had the chains or cables with it. Very flexible and durable, just a tad expensive.

This towbar replaces one I've had for years. The item picture was misleading since the tow bar doesn't come with the pictured crossbar or quick connects. Still a good value and I already had the other parts shown in the picture but not included.

Bought this to replace the one I've had for 15 years and finally wore out. The picture shows the crossbar and quick connects from the Roadmaster website, but they ARE NOT INCLUDED. It's still a good value, and I have them already from my original kit, but if I'd known the whole thing would have been a bit cheaper from Camping World, I'd have bought from them instead. Really disappointed in that...

So much easier to disconnect than the previous model.

This is a great tow bar. Well built. Very easy to disconnect as it has non-jamming release handles. Tracks very well and easy to hook up. The crossbar mount is extremely strong.
