Ted Kaczynski (Tobin Bell), a brilliant mathematician, turns his back on society and civilization. Railing against technology, he leaves his job and his home to go and live as a reclusive hermit. As Kaczynski becomes increasingly unstable his drives turn pathological and he soon turns to murder - preparing and sending bombs to a random assortment of individuals. His heinous crimes grab the attention of the FBI, including famed FBI profiler Ben Jeffries (Dean Stockwell), an unconventional maverick agent determined to take Kaczynski down.
