Great SWR for the money
I have read a little on these devices over the past few months, and decided that for ham radio use, if they worked as well as people seemed to think, the small size, internal battery etc. would make it ideal for field antenna work. I really wasn't expecting that much at this price. However, it arrived in a nice looking box with fitted internal compartments for cables, connectors etc. My first quick play with it impressed me. I was suspicious about using a square-wave and using harmonics for the higher ranges, but if you forgive the reduced measurement range, that actually works pretty well. Not as well as my bench VNA, but that cost just a tiny bit more. The biggest potential problem is the number of sample points. Being fixed at 101 points is rather limiting for wide-band scans. That said, its not that usual outside of microwave use that wide bandwidth scans are used/useful. If you really need that, there is software available (free) for Windows and Mac to control the nanoVNA, and with the ability to split the range into some number (you decide - how long you want to wait) of segments, and scan each segment individually, merging the results into a single view. If I had to find fault, it would pretty much be with the external components: * A guitar pick is better than a finger on that little screen, but a stylus would be better. * There is only one 50ohm load, the proper calibration procedure requires two, although you *can* use just one. * The open and short calibration loads are identical once connected or an adapter fitted. Marking these 'O' and 'S' would be useful. * The box is too nice to toss away, but lacks space for additional adapters/connectors. All that said, I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a VNA for sub-microwave use and not requiring ultra-precision. If you have never used this sort of equipment before there is a somewhat steep learning curve, and most documentation is either at too high a level for a lot of people, and assuming lots of basic knowledge, or really too low level and created by people that are maybe not really grasping what they are doing. I expect that problem to resolve fairly quickly. As an antenna analyzer for ham radio use it blows most of those costing 10 or more times as much out of the water, and is useful for other things too (like tuning filters etc.).only using for SWR across multiple bands, but beats the price on buying multiple meters.

Ham radio operator must have
This nano vna has been a great learning experience. Super helpful when building/checking antennas. It does a whole lot more but haven't ventured out to learn more of. Great item for the price.

Great for checking antennas! You can't beat the price for what it can do!
Great for checking your antenna SWR! I used this for a meshtastic node to ensure my antenna was a good match. It was simple to use (loads of YouTube videos!). There is much more it can do beyond what I know! I brought it to my Ham radio meeting and they were showing me a bunch of things. Great tool to learn more about antennas and test ones you build! Other devices will cost you loads of money...this works great for all the main things.

Great VNA for antenna testing and cable path loss.
Ordered a larger version tmfo more easy read. Works well, but haven't been able to get SD card to work. Have tried multiple formats. For antenna testing be sure to calibrate with the intended cables and groundplane you intend for antenna. Otherwise, you will be introducing variables after calibration that will potentially give inaccurate readings.

More than advertised!
Fortunately there are a ton of videos on Youtube to figure out how to use this device. This thing has more capability than I anticipated! Clear quality, the enlarged size really helps with my older vision. Quality of the product is great, feels good! They suggest that I say something about the ease of use...understand that this is a complicated piece of tech. The good thing about it as the larger and most updated version, some of the complication can be taken out. Please look at a bunch of videos on this and learn with it in your hands! Don't hesitate to purchase it. There is a ton of bang for the buck.

Amazing instrument for peanuts
Works great. But see youtube videos for easy guidance. Performs amazing results from simple SWR to filter test. Smith chart display, coax loss and much more. Best to clean up initial busy screen. Remove extra traces then select freq span, scale, and what measurement ( such as swr). I set mine for swr on trace 1 , 13.5 MHz to 15 mhz, scale 1 to 5. After calibrating with 3 test loads ( included) saw nice curve which i used to adjust whip for 20 meter band. Saved settings for easy return. This used to be a bread box size instrument for $2000. Ham and prof radio engr since 1958. If only i had this long ago. 73 wa2kbz

It really works as advertised!
Just got the NanoVNA-H4, and now I'm wondering how I ever worked on antennas without it. The menu's take a little getting used to, but once you learn it, tuning your antennas take just a couple minutes. I tuned a couple Hustler mobile antennas and it was just easy as could be and was able to see the available range of the antenna to match the tuner. Couple notes, make sure you have the male SMA to male 259 adapter and be sure and buy and sd card to save your work. As far as bang for the buck I must say that this little piece of equipment is worth every penny, you will not be disappointed.

Not the most solid build, yet not cheaply made either. This unit does the trick without bombast. Excellent value for money, accurate enough for horseshoes and easy to use. Vewry impressed.
