Buy Experiences, Not Things
As a newbie in a since to the self-help book world, I tend to get bored with some books and have trouble finishing the book. But in this case, I was fully engrossed with the book until the very end. If I could have highlighted the entire book I would. Friedman not only provides you with 5 steps that can better your life but he also provides you with tangible advice that you can follow. His words resonated with me in so many aspects of my life and truly opened my eyes. There were so many times that I had the so true moments the two that truly stick out is his section on creating a wolf pack and what it should like, and when he goes into leaders and the types of "not so good" leaders that are out there. I enjoyed the hands-on tasks that were provided in the book allowing you to truly absorb what was being said. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a change in their life and trying to be the best version of themselves.Disclaimer * I received an advance copy from Harper Collins Leadership and purchased the book as well. This review is my honest thoughts on the book.

YOU, not Circumstances, Control Your Life
Zack Friedman has written an excellent book with effective guidelines for improving one’s life from right where they are. He keeps his formula to five simple steps, though they are not always as easy to enact as they are to state. The biggest drawback for me is some of the cutesy labels he uses for people. While effective, they feel contrived to me; this is a matter of personal taste, though. The message of the book is excellent, though, and I would recommend it to others.

Excellent book! Friedman inspires greatness in all of us
I love this book! It’s well-written, practical, witty, and motivational. Friedman really gets at the heart of what it means to be successful. Happiness is usually what we strive for in retirement (“deferred happiness” as he calls it), but Friedman shows us happiness should be at the center of our life now and that helps to fuel our success and greatness today. He teaches us that we have more power than we give ourselves credit for and how to take more control of what we want in our life. That really spoke to me. There’s also a good balance of inspiration with insightful, real-world advice that anyone can apply to their personal and work life. So many business and self development books have the inspiration, but lack the substance. This book has so much inspiration and substance. I loved the stories of business leaders and especially the Warren Buffet and Sylvester Stallone stories. The Lemonade Life is more than a book - it’s a toolkit for life that you can keep referring to over and over. I know I will and highly recommend this book to others.

A (r)Evolutionary Read!
What I love about “The Lemonade Life” is it’s specifically designed for you bc TLL is about becoming the best version of you set by you and no one else.If you’re unhappy in Life or have an amazing life there’s more bc TLL is evolutionary (& revolutionary). You never arrive, you’re always making “lemonade 🍋 “Get this book. Gift this book. Become this book. Make lemonade. It’s not a “do this & you’ll have that” kind of book. It’s going to take self work & self ❤️ but it’s done with an awareness with no deadline because you’re constantly improving. If you’re stuck in life follow Friedman’s 5E’s.“Evolve like the straw.”And “always carry a compass.”(Got you curious? 😂)POWERFUL tips that you can immediately apply to your life.

A framework to lead the life you want to live
**What is the book’s main theme?**Lead the life you want to live?Simple way to create happiness**What ideas did I learn?**There are 4 types of people: External Excusers,Steady Settlers, Change Chasers, and Daring Disruptors. The first 3 types often fall into mindset traps.*“Happiness derivation: Change Chasers gain comfort and stature from the chase, and making sure they’re involved with the latest and greatest.” -Quote from the book.* I found one sign, as suggested by the author, that I am a “change chaser”. My risks are not calculated.I think every opportunity warrants a huge bet. I am proud of being a risk taker. Yet I am not a calculated risk taker.**Do I find this 4 types labelling useful?**To a certain level. My pattern of blindspots become clear. I like the sensation of improving my life. But I don’t invest the necessary time to learn before execution.**What I dislike about this book?**Like other self-improvement books, I feel enthusiastic while I am reading the first few chapters. But be cautious, most of the ideas are mindset oriented and not new. If you never heard of KFC’s founder story, this is a good book for you.

Happiness is the starting point...
Over the last 3+ years, I have read numerous personal development books. All have a similar undertone but I take away a new perspective and outlook with each one I read. However, The Lemonade Life over delivers on golden nuggets that are simple, applicable, and easy suggestions on how to approach and tackle life. I honestly could not put the book down. Every free minute, I had my book and highlighter in my hand. There is so much insight and opportunities for personal reflection packed into less than 200 pages. Zack Friedman's writing style in this book is personable and relatable. I felt like he was sitting across the table from me sharing his learnings and wisdom. There is something for everyone to take away—no matter what season you are in.*I purchased a copy of The Lemonade Life but also received a free copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. Opinions expressed are my own.
