Amazon Basics Compostable Knives, Pack of 100

The knives are pretty sturdy and pretty sharp for plastic knives. That is a pro in some ways but also a con if you scratch yourself or your young kiddos get ahold of it the wrong way!

These arrived in an Amazon bag that was crushed and the forks spilled out into the bag from the crushed box. Not such a bad thing- HOWEVER- Amazon has taken to spraying these bags with a cheap fragrance that smells like a dollar store body cologne. SO now these forks- that you are supposed to eat with, all stink like cheap cologne. This is a horrible practice of spraying our products with cheap scents! I do not like this at all. I know everyone is so crazy for fragrance on everything- but my forks? Amazon please cut the fragrance out - it is disgusting.

These knives cut well and are sturdy for disposable knives. They have a little bit of trouble with a spreading motion, as they can break with thick things like unmixed natural peanut butter, but no more than other disposable knives seem to.

I was hesitant about these utensils since I hadn't used compostable utensils before but I was pleasantly surprised. These can hold up for any dish we need them to in my house.

These cost more and will break when using if you apply too much pressure, but they're better for the environment so I still prefer them.

I purchased these compostable plastic spoons because my children take their lunch to school and almost daily a spoon is included as one of their favorite lunch items is applesauce. The first time I sent them in their lunch, I received a text around lunchtime from my high school daughter...."this spoon is wack" LOL It wasn't that she didn't like it but apparently it was noticeably different. My son confirmed the same when he arrived home from middle school that day.As far as I can tell, these perform just as well as traditional disposable spoons. As much as I try to recycle, I admit I'm not an environmental enthusiast to the point of trying to avoid ANY trash so the fact these spoons are supposed to break down quickly helps me feel a little less guilty about their eventual destination in the landfill. The description, when I purchased, said they are compostable.....perhaps someday I'll have a compost pile but for now they will have to do their "composting" in the landfill. sorry Mother Earth

The product is great, continually arrives with spoons all over the place though. Packaging doesn’t hold up through shipment process.

My wife and I buy these spoons for one use: eating ice cream straight out of the freezer when we’re too lazy to get real spoons. Others disposable spoons break, which is the worst defeat when staring shame in the face. These let us eat ice cream from the cartoon without fear of our plastic spoon judging us. Highly recommend.

Great forks. They work well for leftovers. Definitely sturdy and stronger than the typical plastic forks
