Engo IND.USE 97-10000

This winch pulls. I have this mounted on my 16 foot trailer. I picked a junk car out of a bank of dirt that was cave in on the car and around it. Pulled the car out of the back of dirt. Another car it pulled up on trailer when the front of the frame fell out and drug the car up on trailer with no wheels, digging in the whole time. I am super satisfied with this purchase.

Broke after first use. The out button on the Remote stopped working. Binds up on it self. Very loud and sounds like its grinding rocks.

Only thing against it is, the finish on the fixtures is not nearly as rust resistant as the top of the line. This is dead solid in the upper level of the not warn/mile marker winches. That is. Its not as fast and not as pretty as the most expensive winches but its 30-50% cheaper per capacity. Mine came with a horrible looking water printed carbon fiber look and the clutch lever started rusting nearly immediately (removed it and plastidiped it).A tiny bit slow, a little louder. Control box is not very solid, but completely functional.A few people bash the engo, and with winches they're probably at least 10% bad in the box regardless of brand.When I first used mine, it smoked a bit. Asked the manufacturer if it was broken. The OWNER replied within hours that it was just some assembly lube burning off and wouldn't likely do it again. They were right.

Believe it or not this off brand winch is pretty solid. It's not the prettiest thing in the world by it has served me well the last few years and actually costs less than what some recovery teams will charge to pull you out. I have used this winch 8 times for my own recovery but was really impressed when I was able to drag a Chevy 3/4 ton on its belly to get it out of a ditch. I will say that I definitely recommend the synthetic line. It is very easy to kink the steel cable.

Ordered an 8000lb winch. They were out of stock. They sent me a 10k for same price. This weekend went wheeling in our 2016 Rubicon. Found a Sheriff Deputy wedged his 2X4 Tahoe down 100 feet into a ravine. Another JKU burned up it's transmission trying to pull him out. We winched out the JKU. Then winched out the Tahoe using an extra 40 feet of strap between so we could stay up on the hill. Not a single problem using the Engo winch. We kept the engine running at 2grand. So this was THREE LONG PULLS in about 30 minutes.
