Wonderful! I love it!
This compost and company is amazing! It’s so fluffy and light. For anyone confused the gold/shiny stuff in the compost is not metal. I actually emailed the company about it because I was curious about why this was beneficial. This is what they said “ Those gold flakes are actually pieces of vermiculite. Fort Vee contains vermiculite, which is a naturally occurring mineral that we add to increase aeration and drainage. These characteristics help with healthy root development, as well as providing ideal habitat conditions for many living soil organisms. In fact, Fort Vee got it's name when “Fortified with Vermiculite” was shortened to “Fort Vee.” Fort Vee also includes a mix of finely ground granite and basalt, which provide slow-release minerals in your fields for years after transplant.” Just for the reviews that say they found “metal” in their compost. Maybe email the company first and learn about them before giving bad review. My plant starts look amazing as well!!

Superb for seed starting
This is superb for seed starting. When I opened the bag it reminded me of the soil of my childhood where I could grow anything. It holds water well, even in the current 90 degree FL heat, so less watering of tiny seedlings. I can see why it would be so great for making soil blocks. I wished I lived closer to brick and mortar store that carried it.

Good
I ordered the raised bed mix and the potting mix. I tried them both for seed starting in containers with cells and humidity domes. Both worked well for marigolds. Germination on the seed packet said 5 to 8 days. I did each soil type in 2 different containers 1 day apart. 12 seeds total, 10 germinated. Sprouts emerged after 3 days. I planted rosemary as well using the potting mix, (germination is 10 to 20 days) nothing happened with them yet. I also planted lavender using the potting mix (germination is 15 to 20 days) with one sprout after 7 days, nothing for the remaining 5 cells. I'm happy with the outcome but there are a lot of big pieces I tried to move to the sides so the sprouts could get around them. The big pieces were bark/twigs, a big old seed and something I couldnt identify. I like the "gold" flakes. I think there isn't much of a difference between the soils, they both seem to be good

It's the real stuff!
First time using this product and it was awesome. I'm 65 years of age and have been gardening since age 25.

6 Days Later?!!!
How is this possible that just six days later it has gone from $34.99 to $49.99 and the first was already an increased price? Seriously?!! I don’t appreciate taking advantage of a consumer just because you can. The mix is suitable but has a lot of stick and items in it and I was surprised to find the flex’s of metal all throughout it, As mentioned by another viewer. Sifted, the starts did grow well

Great compost!
This compost worked really well for my seed starting. It has good nutrients in it to keep the plants strong till it’s time to plant them out. Regular seed starting mix has no nutrients in it. The only down side is that it is very expensive. I bought two large bags. I could really use about four more bags but it’s cost prohibitive for me at this time.
