Got it for a friend’s gift
Got it for a friend as a gift and they liked it! Can’t go wrong with Smeg’s retro design. Gotta admit it’s more of a design item than being functionality superior.

Don't buy this Retro Blender!
It's beautiful and I bought it for a rental property. It was used perhaps 3 times and it broken-- it won't start and the jar was leaking because guests assumer that the bottom unscrews. Terrible product that is very expensive

Retro with regard to aesthetics as well as function
This blender looks beautiful but functions no better, perhaps worse than, an inexpensive Oster or Hamilton Beach blender. I couldn't resist the beautiful form and have now owned two of these that have underperformed when they were fully functional and became non functional within a year of purchase. The plastic gear mechanism does not hold up to daily use, the o-ring in the pitcher if problematic is not replaceable (ours leaks although we have assembled, cleaned, reassembled) the pitcher lid has a cut out so you can add ingredients while blending...theoretically...it is impossible to remove while the lid is secured to the pitcher), the settings markers have all rubbed off so you have to guess what setting you are at. I have both the Smeg toaster and electric kettle which I highly recommend. If you can live with the appearance of a blend tech or vitamix, i would go with one one those instead of the Smeg

Aesthetically nice but functionally mehhhhh
I'll only recommend this for people who don't need to use this everyday. Not the greatest and can't compare to the popular basic brands and models. Can't recommend it as it stopped working after 5 months
