"Bloop, Bloop!" Goes the Poop

What a surprising find!
We have been struggling to get our toddler potty trained. He had long mastered the #1 but the #2 was an ongoing challenge. Then we read him Bloop Blooop goes the Poop! Something about this book he found relatable. The next day when he was put on the toilet he stopped his daddy from taking him off when nothing was happening. He told his daddy to "wait for it" and sat there until he had done his number 2! What?! Best part - he has been consistent ever since!!!!!! Thank you!

Bloop,Bloop, Goes the Poop great for the very young children in need of such help!
I chose this rating because I felt the artist was very clear about her subject and did a wonderful job with the photos and making it educational as well for very young kids to be able to understand what is expected of them as they need to learn how to use the toilet on their own in time a good time, too! I liked the book as I had already stated above. She did a marvelous job I felt so this is why I gave her four stars. If the letters were just a littlelbigger for the kids this age I felt then I could have given her five stars then, see? I recommend this book for the parents or guardians or other close realtives of these kids that are needing to be ready or are ready already to be using the toilet. Thank you Amazon and author for making this book free for others as well as myself who would like to help both the author and those readers to be out there. By Angela L.

Sweet Jesus, he pooped on the potty
Finally!!!! My three year old has been pee trained since 2 1/2 but refused to poop on the potty. I've watched this kid hold it for hours until his nighttime diaper. He exhibited jedi mind control over his bowels like I've never seen. Eventually his body accliminated to pooping at night. If I weren't so frustrated, I'd have been impressed. It's been 6 months of hell, folks. I've tired everything. Gentle assurance, stern consequences, promises of sleepovers, a special toy that he would get when he went on the potty (sat on top of my fridge for months), backing off for a month, and even pretending that his baby brother pooped on the potty (even got a little poop from his diaper in the potty to really sell it - not my finest moment). NOTHING worked. I had all but resigned myself to him going to college with a diaper and buying stock in Pampers....Until this book. Now I'm not going to give it all the credit. First I got him to poop on the potty while wearing the diaper which was a big step. Also we would go sit on the potty for 5 minutes after each meal and read this book. Eventually he started asking for a diaper and going to get the book when he needed to go. He even began reciting the book as I read it. And then finally, one glorious day he came running into the room with his pants around his ankles and announced he went on the potty. I about dropped to my knees. Since then he's pooped on the potty every day. I hesitated to write this review lest I jinx myself but it's been 2 weeks and all systems are go. I don't know if it's the book, the routine, or a combination but I don't care. It's over. Until the next one.........

Story could be better
The story was funny & kids can relate. I add to the story when we read it since my child is older. I like that the boy in the story has a pet cat because we do too. On one page it states "Hop off the seat and wipe your backside to feel fresh and new"....really?? kids are messy enough as it is, they should be seated when they wipe, so messes go into the potty not on the floor. Would have given a higher review if that part of the story had been written properly. Also kids want to see an illustrated picture of the poo, which this book did not have. Book is short with actual story of 23 pages. We also have the book "Softy the Poop" that pairs well with this one.

Everything you want in a book about poop.
Bought for my 5 year old that still won't poop in the toilet. First of all, she loves it! She has asked me to read it and wants to "read" it to me several times a day (while she sits on the toilet and does what the boy does in the book!!!)I love how the book goes through every detail about using the potty: where you should and shouldn't go poop, what it will feel like when you need to go, that you should go right to the bathroom and that your toys will be there when you get back, that you need to wait a while on the toilet, wiping, washing hands...And it tells all of this in a memorable, rhyming, kid-friendly, fun way! The illustrations are helpful but not weird. It is just the right length. I read it in about 2 and a half minutes. It is a charming book about poop. My little girl still giggles every time about "bloop blooming" as she calls it now.Really, I can't say enough good things about it. It exceeds my expectations.

paperback. Buy because it is funny!
Very vibrant colors and pictures. It is not a rhyming book but it is funny. Who's to say if it actually helps your child potty train better or not, the humor is appropriate for young children but is more for the parents enjoyment. Definitely something you and your little one can giggle about together during story time. Get ready for, "WHAT FOR IT..BLOOP GOES THE POOP!"

Best poop book out there!!!
We’ve bought a ton of poop books lately for my toddler who is withholding. This one is by far the absolute best at keeping the kiddo interested in the story, clever rhyming, and explaining the basic physical act of pooping from start to finish that’s easy for him to understand!

Amazing! Helped my son with Autism
My son loves this book! He is now 8 years old and has autism and struggled to understand the concept of going #2 on the potty. When he was 7 he was finally able to understand do it completely thanks to this book. A year later he still recites parts of the book when he goes lol!

making light work of a tough topic
Excellent addition to the growing list of toilet training books. I really like the Bloop bloop catch phrase and the washing hands picture afterwards. If fact I really like all of it. Thankfully the days of toilet training my own children are long gone but in my professional role I am often having to give advice. This book will definitely hels

Cute.
This is a book for parents to read to toddlers who are toilet training. It depicts a scene where a little boy uses the toilet on his own.Unfortunately, Moore is one of those writers who wants to write in rhyme but doesn’t actually pull it off. It starts out quite promising:“If you’re playing cars and trucks and your tummy gets the rumbles, there is a place that you can go to help those tummy grumbles!”But then it loses the rhythm and beat:“Leave the toys where they are, they will be there when you get back; (I don’t know why this ends with a semicolon.)Where should you go? Oh, no! Oh, no!Maybe behind the door, under blankie, or somewhere out of sight?Oh, no! Oh, no! That just wouldn’t be right!”It was nice to see a book with a family of African descent. These are still not as prevalent as they should be. The tone was cheerful and encouraging. The illustrations were fine although I didn’t like the bug eyes on everyone. It wasn’t a terrible book but I recommend you look for a better one on the topic of toilet training.

Poo problems
This book, Super Pooper and Potty Training for Dummies were so helpful for my son that refused to go poo on potty. He had pee down for months but would not go poo on the potty. After he first started pooping on the potty/toilet he wanted a star as his reward like the child in the book. We make it together and he is so proud of it.

Son went poop
My son really liked this book and started going poo on the toilet rather than his diaper days after we bought it! Maybe it was just perfect timing.

Really good book for toddlers struggling with doing #2
Really liked this book. Extremely relatable for our potty training situation. Just the right length, and to the point. My 3 year old seems to like this one more than other potty books I bought him.
