Great Buy
Great little fan. Whisper Quiet and installed easy.

Quiet enough, exact size match, easy install
Even though it’s not the very quietest fan on the market, I can barely hear it if I’m not in the room I put it in and it’s far cheaper than some of the ultra-quiet models (plus, sometimes in a bathroom, noise=privacy). The installation was relatively easy. Probably took me 30 minutes. The others will go much faster. Bonus for me is that the fan I replaced was the original builder’s grade fan and it fit the existing hole exactly. It only has a 4 inch outlet, so I had to get a reducer for the 3 inch ducting that my house has, but that wasn’t a big deal. Just bought 3 more to replace the rest in my house.

Fits budget fan dimensions and outperforms them in every way!
Lots of background, skip to the bottom for the pro's and cons of this unit. I bought this to replace the old bathroom fan that was undersized by the original housebuilder. They installed a 50 cfm budget fan that was 4 sones in loudness. After 12 years the motor died and I ordered another complete unit and chucked the housing because just the replacement motor costs 5 dollars more than the whole unit? Dumb! Anyway, there was never a shower that didn't leave the mirror foggy or the walls wet. There is a slight mold along the shower wall that I would wipe with bleach but it would come back within a few weeks or so. Further research and measuring the cubic feet of the bathroom, I knew I needed to get the proper ventilation fan. So I measured the small bathroom, the Height was 8 feet, the Width was 5 feet, the Length was 6 feet. Thank God for algebra, who knew? So that was 240 cfm. (LxWxH). Fans rated for this space were well over $100 dollars. I didn't want to spend that much and I wanted to stay within the original dimensions of the budget fan which was approx. 7.5 inches x 7.25 inches. I looked on here and found this Tech Drive fan that fit the dimensions perfectly. The vent chute for the budget fan was 3", this new one was 4", so I knew I had to replace the vent to the roof, luckily the builders cut a 4" hole vent and I knew I could replace the hose. Back to the CFM, My total room was 240, this fan is rated at 80 cfm's. This means that it would take 3 minutes to exchange the air in the bathroom. So I opted to get this fan. After all, my old fan was 50 cfm so, it would take 5 minutes to do the same job. So round about, 60% more suction on the new fan compared to the budget junk I had. Ordered it and waited. Pros: 1.Fit the original budget fan hole perfectly. No cutting and minimal mess. 2. Waaay quieter than the original. This thing is nearly silent especially considering the old fan rated at 4 sones. This is only 1.5 sones, basically 1/3 as loud as the junk one it replaced. Who knew bathroom fans weren't supposed to sound like running garbage disposals? 3. Clear instructions and removable motor, screws were also included. 4. No more steamy mirrors and wet walls! 5. Three year warranty Cons: 1. The outlet vent is 4", original budget fans are typically 3". You will have to get in the attic and swap the original hose to outside. 2. The vent outlet isn't directional, meaning make sure the flap inside CLOSES when the fan is not running and OPENS when the fan is on. If your not careful you can put it on "upside down" and it would be OPEN when off and CLOSED when on, making it not work properly. 3. Vent outlet is plastic. One of the tabs that hold it in position BROKE very easily. I had to use metal tape to secure the vent hose to the housing. Not a big deal but be aware and prepared for this, if not, the moist air could end up leaking in the attic and create mold, mildew and even warp your drywall and cause wood rot. If you made it this far, you must be serious about bathroom vent fans. Just make sure that the housing is not sticking past the drywall! Flush is best but when your working alone without a ground helper, it is better to have the housing come up a 1/4" short than hang out, or else the cover will not touch against the ceiling, leaving an unsightly gap between the cover and the wall/ceiling! Unfortunately, mine stuck past the drywall, but there is NO way in he** I'm crawling up into the attic again! P.s. watch out for nails above your head when in the attic! I would absolutely recommended this fan. Good luck and God bless.

Great fan!
I’ve been using the Tech Drive Quiet 80 CFM fan for a little while now, and I’m really happy with it. It’s super quiet—much quieter than I expected—and doesn’t bother me even when it’s running all day. The compact size is great for fitting into smaller spaces without taking up too much room. It works well to keep the air moving and feels efficient for its size. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it had a few more speed settings or some additional features, but overall it does exactly what I need. If you want a quiet, no-fuss fan that fits small spaces, this one’s a solid choice.

Know your duct size...
I had this professionally installed by my handyman, we had the original intake fan from when the house was built. It stopped working about six or seven years ago. I decided since we already had a list of things for him to do around the house I'd have him replace this as well. After installation he did state this was fairly easy to install, he did have to go to get the duct converter because I guess ours was 3 inch and not 4 but that was a very cheap part and it was installed quicker than getting the old unit out. As for how it runs... it's very quiet. The only one in the house that you can't hear from outside the door. I still need to get up on a ladder and clean around the plastic vent where the old vent was but it looks nice and works well from what I can tell so far. Definitely a worthwhile investment, will purchase again if my other fans stop working.

This 80 CFM one is the right size for the our washroom, but this is so quiet and a little smaller than the old one it replaced, I think I could have probably fit the higher CFM one and it would have still fit and be quieter and an upgrade too. It has been working fine for some time now, and I have no complaints.

Was great set up for existing construction install replacement , as the internal is held by two side clips and the turbine comes out so you can deal with installing just the metal casing first giving you access inside to screw metal box on existing frame , if your frame is on the right side just drill 3 holes like the pre drilled ones on the left , for some reason they are all on the left ,metal box area to tuck all wires in metal housing box , the unit has nice bright lighting and is quiet and draws very well ..

Easy to install if you follow the instructions, since the motor is removable. Nice and quiet. Seems to move a lot of air. Make sure the cover is large enough to cover the cutout, I was replacing an old fan that used a larger cutout. I ended up reusing the vent cover from the old fan since it was bigger than the cover that comes with this one, which didn't quite cover the hole.
