Bad copy possibly?
I'd give it more stars but noticed I had lots of OOF shots at night, thought because it was so dark I messed up but same thing happened today. Quite a few OOF images. Gonna return and get another sample, maybe just a bad unit. One of the good images from the test run. There is noticeable barrel distortion but in Darktable using lens correction and Sony 28mm made a big difference.

Wide but not too wide
It's compact enough for a full frame camera, I don't find it too big. I find 24mm not wide enough so 20mm was perfect for landscapes. My A7 has a 50mm on it most of the time and find I have to do multi shot pano's to capture a larger scene. However, with this lens, I can usually capture it with one shot so saves me a lot of time later in post since I don't need to stitch. There is a bit of distortion but not like a fisheye. If buildings are far enough, you won't notice it. Lightroom does have a lens profile for this lens to fix the distortion. With my 50mm and the Tamron 20mm in the bag, I have all I need.

fun lens with great perpectives.
i waited a long time for this lens to come on ware house deals. it wasnt some ones cup of tea but i luv it, the build quality is great, its solid and fits well on my sony a7iii. af seems very fast to me, there was a firware update for this lens so i installed the update. this is a fun lens that u can get very close to your subject. theres a distortion correction profile in dxo prolabs which i use to edit and i can see the ammount of correction, theres definatly barrel distortion but easily corrected with the profile. this is a fun lens

Very good image quality. Affordable, weather sealed. Tamron delivered
Very Good image quality, better than the Sony 50mm, less than the 85mm. 20mm is very nice for landscape and some urban architecture. Very close focus point 5cm allows for cool bokeh effect. Good build quality, even if exterior plastic. I tried it for astro photography, was disappointed. Not as luminous as it should be. The 16-35 amd my 14mm, all f2.8, are way better. Overall happy. Weather sealed, cheap, nice image.

Light weight , budget fun lens
**All picture took with Sony A7Rii**Af is a little bit slow but acceptable. Not a lens for taking movie because the auto focus is quite noisy.Turn it to manual focus, very smooth when turn and feel great for using manual focusing.Very light weight and good picture quality. At f2.8 already sharp in the middle, f5.6-8 the best.Macro mode is fun, great for taking picture of toys or figure with more background. It's like a toy lens but very fun to use.Not much complain with the price, if you want a better performance lens, spend triple price to get the Sony one. Beside the 1:2 macro , the Sony 20mm f1.8 definitely better one. But both lens worth the price !!
