A good replacement and they've lasted.
These went in with no difficulty whatsoever and it was very clear how they functioned. Essentially there was only one way they go in and one place they fit in their sized accordingly. I've been using them for nearly 6 months and they have run well.

Finally, my grass can once again grow! This is an awesome fix to any properties landscape drought.
Every so often, my irrigation for the landscape gives up. I think the different weather changes and temperature fluctuations play havoc on the sprinklers and cause the system to give up. These babies are sturdy and reliable. I hope they last another 40 years.

Good for original valve bodies
Brass actuator is the best bet for original brass valve bodies. Just don't use the manual bleed screw for turning the valve on and off as it easily strips the threads in the actuator body.

Simple. Work's.quiet. Small. No leaks or water hammering
No instructions but not my first rodeo. Don't forget to remove the siphon valve cover on your in ground assembly first. Gently tighten solenoid and bleed bolts after testing. Work of art compared to the plastic models half the price.

Perfect fit for Champion irrigation metal valve body
The metal valves are more durable and repairable than the plastic valves. The plastic valve was leaking and had a crack due to high pressure source. The metal valve will be easy to maintain and last twice as long.

Buyer BEWARE--this item has limited compatibility
There is something very important missing from the description of this item: It very likely WILL NOT WORK if you try to install it on an existing valve body (the part that's in the ground) made by another manufacturer. I bought this as a "spare" for my automatic lawn sprinklers. So, other than making sure it was correct size (3/4 inch), I didn't examine it in further detail until several weeks later when I went to replace a leaking valve with it. SURPRISE! It would not turn into the threads of the sprinkler fitting in the ground! It is a non-standard thread, compared to the rest of the plumbing world. I know this because I have eight such valves on my system, all of which I have replaced over the years with other actuators of various brands, all of which screwed in effortlessly. On closer examination, I see the valve bodies I have are of the Orbit brand--probably one of the most common--and they have the standard, slightly finer threading that matches all of the other brands of actuators I've installed on them, but not this one. So study your system carefully before you order this because if you wait more than 30 days, like I did, East Coast hardware won't take it back, however new and in the box! So I bought a $60 paper weight. Not happy.
