Bought this as a Christmas gift based on reviews. My daughter took with her on a trip and used it continuously. It challenged her and taught her a lot about songwriting. She couldn’t say enough good things about it. Just buy it!

Great writing ideas!

I have ADHD. The drills in this book are perfect and helped keep me focused. They don't require so much time that my mind wanders. The exercises were precise and to the point.

Gave this as a gift. They love it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and room available for writing.

About halfway through the challenges in the book. Helps solidify some of the ideas of how to go about songwriting. Highly recommend.

I actually liked this book! I'm a writer but wanted to stretch my legs into songwriting specifically. This 30-day challenge was tough, but fair and showed me where I shine and where I need improvement. Now I have to take these new lyric writing skills into learning how to transform them into melodies and actual songs. If they wanted an idea for what the next book should be, there you go!

This is a great book for sparking the creativity in your lyric writing. The exercises take 10 minutes each. Highly recommend.

PRO TIPS: 1. Do each challenge first thing in the morning. As writer says, Set aside 15 minutes. A few minutes to read and digest the day’s challenge. 10 minutes to complete the challenge. 2. *Do not* go over the 10-minutes limit. - Once the 10-minutes are up, stop! - “Each challenge is designed to take exactly 10-minutes” (page 1). - Stick to the time limit so you have enough energy and motivation to do next day’s challenge AND to prevent any overwhelm or burnout. I went over the time limit only a couple of times and then struggled to commit to the challenges in the days following. 3. DON'T BE A PERFECTIONIST. - Don’t stress or try to perfect your work/writing. - The point is to keep going DAILY with a brand new challenge each day. - I would only try to complete ‘unfinished’ work AFTER I've attempted all 30 challenges. - I'd also look at each work as "just a note” or prompt for future projects. Personal experience: This book's really helped me think creatively and outside the box and noticeably improved my songwriting skills. I've had compliments on my work from others which proved to me how effective these challenges are - and I haven't even finished the book (I'm on Day 18)! I’m planning on re-doing the challenges once I’ve finished the book but maybe using my own prompts (come up with own prompts the night before). I'd recommend it to all, i.e. anyone wanting to improve their songwriting skills, feeling out of practice/writer’s block and needing some inspiration, especially beginner songwriters.

Well written exercises get the right side of the brain thinking simple but very effective
