Therm-a-RestBlockerLite Pump Sack for Inflating Sleeping Pads Green

I'm a long time backpacker, but a recent convert to the therm-a-rest pad (not sure why I resisted so long). The blow up sack that is included with all current therm-a-rest air pads is great, but I found myself missing the multi-functionality I had with my previous Big Agnes pumphouse sack (pump sack and waterproof bag for my sleeping bag, rolled into one). This product answers that need.I filled up the sack in my sink with water to check it out, and it didn't loose a drop. Compare that to the default pump sack, which lets water pass through easily (and yes, it's not marketed as a dry sack).And this sack actually comes in at the same weight as the original. Albeit, they accomplished this by reducing it's overall size. More on that later.Although the Blockerlite does what it says it does, there are a couple of downsides in comparison to the default thermarest pump sack. First, it's smaller than the standard; this means not only can you not fit as much inside of it (this is actually a partial plus for me, as my sleeping bag doesn't take up a lot of room), but you can't get as much air into it to blow up your pad. It's not half as small, but it probably takes twice as long to use as a pump sack because of its size. I still love it, but you'll be disappointed in comparison.Second, the fit on the plug-in gasket isn't quite as good as the original. The poorer seal, combined with the sack's more diminutive size, means that you'll be losing connection a lot more than you did with the original bag. This is the only thing I really don't like about this sack.But I'm stoked this product exists. I like to serve double purpose on as many of my backpacking items as possible, and the blockerlite lets me do that, albeit with a little more effort.

I have been a happy customer of ThermaRest for nearly 20 years now. This product does not meet their standards. It's a piece of junk, to be frank. It ripped apart after a few days of use. It did not stay attached to the pump valve. I stopped using it for inflation even before it ripped apart because it was such a hassle to use.The pump sack that came with my NeoAir does not have the same problem, so why should this? I have used other waterproof pumpsacks from competing companies. Stay away from this product.

You can blow up your mattress faster than using this product.

Nice design, but failed at seam by pump end. Useless at that point as pump or waterproof sack.

Doesn't fit xlite valve, ridiculous

Not easy to use effectively but will get the job done. Not a big time saver but definitely saves your breath.

This inflation sack does not work! I was given a refund. The inflation port is too big for the nozzle on your sleeping pad.

Great quality pump sack. Just lacking the information needed to let people know that the valve doesn't fit the older mats with the skinnier valve.

Habe die Therm-a-rest Trail Pro, eine sehr bequeme und warme Isomatte. Das Winglock-Ventil passt nicht zu den deutlich günstigeren Fluxbags (und deren zahlreichen Adaptern). Daher bestellte ich (Geschenk) diesen Pumpsack/Drybag. Der Stoff ist sehr, sehr dünn. Der Verschlussmechanismus funktioniert. Aber die Verbindung zwischen dem Pumpsack und der Matte ist nicht sonderlich fest, d.h. beim Pumpvorgang, wenn er denn mit etwas Kraft ausgeführt wird, löst sich das Ventil oft. Nun kann man zu zweit arbeiten, und einer hält das Ventil fest, aber das kann es eigentlich nicht sein.Die Matte kann man theoretisch mit 10 bis 15 mal kräftigem Hineinblasen auch aufpusten. Allerdings landet so auch viel Feuchtigkeit in der Matte, was auf Dauer zu Schimmelbildung führen kann. Daher der Pumpsack. Auffalten, kurz hineinpusten, aufbauschen lassen, und dann verschließen und pumpen. Feuchtigkeit bleibt außen vor. Allerdings erhöht sich der Widerstand natürlich, je stärker die Matte aufgeblasen wird. Am Ende bläst man dann doch mit dem Mund fertig auf. Zeitersparnis stelle ich keine fest. Allerhöchstens erspart man sich evtl. mal etwas Schwindel, wenn man zu stark gepustet haben sollte. Und der Feuchtigkeitseintrag wird auch reduziert, wenn auch nicht komplett verhindert.Als Drysack kann man den Pumpsack auch benutzen - allerdings nur für leichte Gegenstände, die auch nicht sonderlich kantig oder spitz sind. Sonst ist das sehr dünne Material schnell punktiert, und das Teil verliert seine Funktionalität.Für mehr als 40 Euro ist das Teil total überteuert. 15 Euro fände ich schon ambitioniert. Ich habe ihn einfach bestellt, weil ich Geschenkgutscheine hatte, und weil ich das Teil einfach ausprobieren wollte. Ich werde den Pumpsack auch behalten, aber überzeugt bin ich nicht und würde ihn auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Returned the electric pump because it was useless. This is much better although you have to go slow towards the end of it keeps popping off.Three stars because it's easy overpriced for what it is. Should be included with $200 air mat.

Funktioniert gut, verwende es mit der Therm a Rest Trail pro Isomatte. Der Anschluss an das Ventil könnte bisschen fester sotzen, bzw einrasten. Nur der Preis könnte bisschen günstiger sein.
