A useful account of a real trial
Professor Steinberg's many writings on the securities laws and corporate governance are valuable and important, but for me nothing beats a good trial war story like this. Instead of reading about the securities laws in hornbooks or dusty old opinions, this book captures a real securities-fraud trial in a real courtroom with real lawyers. I would urge those interested in a litigation career, or those already in one, to read the book, especially the transcripts of the opening statements, the witness examinations, and the closing arguments. It gives a good representation of what senior partners, clients, and judges expect of lawyers.
