Loud, sound is ok, but a god awful amount of wiring.
I installed these on an older 99 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. They took about an hour to install and I don’t know a ton about mechanics or electrical. I didn’t really even use the instructions , it’s pretty much straight forward.I also was installing a usb charger so I spliced this with that. The clamps for the speakers are terrible but it is what it is.I installed 2 on my handlebars and2 on the highway bars. The sound quality isn’t amazing but you can’t expect insane quality control out of three inch speakers. They are loud, I have Vance and Hines straight pipes that are loud can hear no problem in the city. In the highway at 70mph I can still hear the music with a full face helmet on. I haven’t been faster than that with them yet.I ran the wires to the amp under the gas tank and put the amp behind my fairing. The inline volume control I was planning to just hide with the rest of the wires but that’s also the shut off so you don’t drain your battery. I mounted that near my left handle. Overall I’m happy with them, but the amount of excess cable is kind of crazy. For now it’s zip tied behind the fairing but it’s ugly and there’s no way to hide this much wire.

FANTASTIC AND POWERFUL AUDIO SYSTEM BUT NOT EASY TO INSTALL IF YOU WANT MAKE THE WIRES LONGER
Real good an powerful audio option for my motorbike (a Suzuki C109R). It sounds nicely and clear till 75 mph, without any problem. Before this audio system, I test the Pyle PLMRMP 4A (with 4 PLMCS36 Pyle speakers, with 400 W of peak power each pear of them), in the same bike and there is no possible comparation with power, loudness and clearness between them... Pyle was an acceptable option (not cheaper if you buy the 4 Pyle speakers, as I did), but not than this Boss, that gives pure quality when listening your favorite music while riding.Perhaps, if its any matter with this audio system, is when you performs the installation... The wire colours does not correspond with any standard on wire colours car audio systems instalation. If you have the "terrible" idea to dismantle the connection plug, to make the wires longer with new connections, better first learn to pry all the Gods you know... There is no reference in the manual about what colours correspond on what speaker (front right, front left, rear right or rear left...), then it results in matters to identify wich wire corresponds with the positive or negative for each speaker, and its the same with the wire of the volume control. this thick wire is composed for 7 little coloured wires inside, that are directly welted to the control, that is a double potentiometer with 6 pins (probably to can balance left-and-right volumes) inserted and protected for a piece of silicone, but theres is no reference too nor in the users manual nor the at web page of Boss... What if you have to make longer this wire becouse is no longer enough for where you can install the control on your bike or if you want to substitute this horrible control, with other more similar with the colors or performs of your bike? What wires correspond with the in or out, of right or left channel and what with the ground wire?... Yeah... youll have a fantastic jigsaw puzzle instead a fantastic audio system... once you have resolved the puzzle (impossible without the help of a voltimeter) and have installed the controls and wires, you'll be very proud about the results and the quality of the sound... But probably you could earn at least one hour on the installation of the system, if Boss informs in the users manual about the wire colours diagram and connections.

Boss
Great bass for the size. I wish they were a little louder but I would recommend buying them again

Good quality.
Work well but don't recommend for a louder bike. They drown out easy

REVISED: Save your money
REVISION: Well, after just shy of 3 years of ownership ... I've had to replace 3 speakers, 1 amp, and made multiple warranty claims ... and the latest install was a complete new system that saw a metal bracket brake within a couple weeks, and now the wiring on the new system is creating horrible sounds. It's gotten so bad, I'm taking the whole system off my bike. The music was nice, but it's just not stable/consistent and become more of a headache.SAVE YOUR MONEY! ... Make another choice!Bottom line ... I'm running a 1994 Harley and my sound system options are limited (barring major customization), so I chose this system to add a little music to longer rides. The system installs relatively easy (I recommend having a friend help mount the speakers OR being skilled with a set of vice grips) and the sound is GOOD. No, it's not "great" quality because you're limited on bass and have to constantly combat engine noise and wind ... but it's still solid, audible music and clear as a bell (at least to a point). Honestly, when I had to do a last minute 700 mile solo, I was SO grateful to have the option of playing the music. The negative comes that, for me, at about 70 mph on the interstate you should just turn it off because it's barely audible. There's just too much noise from other vehicles, wind, road and engine at that speed (on my carbureted Harley) for it to really be clear enough to care about. But any conditions below that and you've got a solid little sound system.THE HUGE PLUS is the customer service from Boss Audio! You get a 3 year warrantee when purchasing through Amazon. I ran into an issue after a couple months where exterior of one of the speakers started to turn from chrome to white. This had come from water/weather damage. Boss quickly got me replacement speaker out. About a year or so later, my sound quality/volume suddenly reduced to ridiculous low levels (I suddenly could barely hear that music was even playing when I was just idling). Another phone call to Boss, and I had a new amplified by the end of the week.I'd wish I didn't have to make these replacement/claims, but I do log considerable miles on my bike (and ride in all weather), so the fact that Boss stands by their product goes a long way for me (and it's very likely others won't experience any of the issues I've described above ... but if they do, Boss Audio will have their back!)
