Don't buy this product
I have installed the 55w whole house UV unit and have now gone through 3 transformers. I am frustrated that the customer service rep. keeps telling me the problem is that it is not a dedicated line. The rep sent out a third transformer and said usually only one in 100 are bad transformersve After the first 2 I had an electrician check the original line. The electrician says there is nothing wrong with the line or outlet. I had the electrician run another dedicated circuit. All again checked out good. We then Plugged in the third transformer and it also immediately began smoking. Turns on showing green light, in a few seconds it turns orange then red and the light goes out. The transformer smells like burnt wire. $500 dollars later the unit still burns out in 10 seconds. These transformers are of very poor quality. they look and feel cheep Please do not buy this product save the frustration and money. Thanks to Amazon they are accepting a return from a third party vendor. Thank you Amazon. My heros

Works as advertised
Sterilizer works as advertised, glass tube is a little tricky to install, would recommend testing seal, filling with water at pressure, before inserting bulb to avoid damaging bulb which is very fragile. Do not use PVC fittings within 6 inches of sterilizer as UV light will degrade them and cause premature failure. Included mounts are insufficient to support weight of sterilizer when filled with water so make sure you have another solution in mind, hose clamps and some metal strapping work well for vertical installation. Bulb/tube packaging insufficient, 2 spare bulbs were broken upon reciept, check contents immediately to avoid delays when trying to get the system up and running.

Removed Coliform from our water supply.
I have spring water flowing into a 1700 gal tank and then pump to the house. I leased the house out last year and wanted to test the water. Report came back with Coliform to high to pass the county requirements. I did my research and ordered the Ultraviolet Whole House Water Purifier. It was very reasonable and easy to install. I installed it last year and retested the water. Report came back with "Absent of Coliform". I is still woking fine and have had no problems. Came with extra bulbs but still using the first one. Great Product.

Read the instructions at least twice before touching anything.
I read the instructions at least 4 times before I did anything. This is not like me but I knew if I busted the tube I was done. One I understood the tube assembly I used a little Vaseline to get the pieces on each end of the tube. I inserted the tube and hand tighten as instructed. I did nothing with the UV bulb at that point.I went to the basement and installed the system using SharkBite and pecs tubing. I then turned to water on. No leaks.I then installed the bulb. Very confusing as to which prongs go into which socket. I tried one way and then put power to the light. If lit up so it may not make any difference which pin goes in which socket. Also, make sure the unit is high enough the ground to get the light into the tube. So, installation is easy if you follow the steps. I spent less than an hour on the install.

Glass tube alignment is critical
Had trouble with the cap on the stainless steel chamber leaking where the closed end of the glass tube comes through. It was difficult to align the glass tube in the stainless steel chamber to prevent this leak. Ended up using a gasket cut out of red rubber to make the seal. Additional coast $1.00 for the red rubber. A different design of the chamber would eliminate this issue.

Easy Install with water heater flex lines.........
Item arrived as described in ad, no surprises. Easy install, I used 3/4" water heater flex lines with sharkbite connectors. FYI. Plastic clamps do not hold unit in place when mounted vertically, the unit drops down through the plastic clamps. It's an easy fix with just a little blocking at the base of the unit. I used an "L" bracket under the chrome cylinder for it to rest upon.Thank you.

5 Stars!
When we decided our well water system needed a major overhaul, we chose to add a whole house antibacterial uv light to the system. Our previous residence had a uv light, but this one is about 2x larger and the set up couldn’t be easier. I think it’s so important to add a uv light to protect from potentially harmful bacteria in our water, especially since ours is well water supplied. Great purchase.

Works like a charm
This UV light is used in my water sterilizer and the last one made it just shy of three years. I use it to make water from the Columbia River, for me and my wife, so we don't use it all the time, only about 2 hours every three days, but that works well for us. What this means is, you know, when you see the warning on a water filter that says "Do not use on water that is biologically unsafe." it means that now the water is sterile, having been bombarded with UV light, it's now safe to run through a Reverse Osmosis system to make pure drinking water. I couldn't be more pleased with this unit.
