I now absolutely love this mirror - after one week of much trouble setting it up. The end result was the Wi-Fi in my house wasn’t strong enough and once I was able to fix our Wi-Fi issues (which was needed) I was able to set it up and it works just like my echo. It’s awesome!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰

I spent 2 weeks contacting Simple Human via email, chat and phone multiple times to finally get told there must be a problem with the syncing mechanism and to return it to where I bought it. It was an excruciating experience. I don’t like that you have to be really close to the mirror to be in focus and to see your whole face. The lights are blinding. I could never get it to set up so my only suggestion is if you do order this and it says it’s connected to another user account or has another syncing issue don’t bother calling customer service and wasting your time just return it, immediately.

I didn't realize how nice it is to have music when getting ready in the morning. I just say, "Alexa, play....." and voila. The lighting is easy to control, and it's got the perfect magnification too. You can't go wrong with this mirror.

I'm updating this review after my cable service provider came out and did some repairs. I knew that the device wasn't the issue because I went to the cell store for help and they connected in less than 5 minutes, so I kept addressing the wifi. It connects easily now. I'm not sure what they did, but it worked. If you have issues with connection like I did it may not be the device but rather something else. I'm enjoying this mirror and love it. end update. The original review remains below just in case it will help someone with set up. I am not able to connect at home, but I can connect at the cell phone store, super easy. So I'm still trying to figure out what is preventing me from the same speed and ease of connection and set up that we all experienced at the T Mobile store. I just want to say that as I went there with my phone and mirror, at first the staff was a bit concerned and confused but very friendly and helpful. What is this? They said. How much is it? They asked. I told them about the mirror and the value, where they could buy one and then told them my issues and that I wanted to get a new phone that would work with the device. They told me I had the best phone, and it should work. So, they 'boom boom boom', had it up and talking to Alexa in 3 minutes or less and everyone was in love with it. I left thinking things would be fine at home and I could do it, and after a reset and another attempt to set up, I still couldn't get the mirror to pair with wifi. I got so far as to be setting up Alexa and the purple wheel just spun forever. I couldn't ever get the mirror to be paired with the app and phone again. I took the mirror back to the store three times, on the second return the staff was greeting the 'mirror'. 'Hello mirror, did you miss me. I missed you'. It was amazing. So, now they want one. That's my review for now. Although I can't connect yet, I am nick named 'pitbull' for my tenacity and I will swing on this rope by my mouth until I get it figured out. 4 stars, just for the lack of detailed instructions about connecting the smart device and Alexa. It assumes a lot, sort of like Calculus assumes you know certain things. I think I need to have a 101 info packet, and other people like me could be better served with full instructions and even a web site with as much detail as you want. I've never had this much issue connecting and even was able to get my smart watch connected and working, so I'm not sure why the mirror app isn't finding the mirror or connecting to alexa or setting up. I will call customer service. I think being specific about wifi connectivity is important because I know I will not be the only person to have this issue and preventing issues like this would be a great idea.

Technology is too good these days to have the setup and simple connection issues be so cumbersome. I have and entire house of various smart devices that I have connected with no issues, and I spent 2 hours and tried multiple times to try and get this up and running before I gave up. If it's this hard to set up, I am not confident in the long term sustainability of the product.

My wife has an older make up mirror that has seen better days. It was time to get a new one. I saw this mirror and really didn't know what to think. I mean it listed tons of features. My wife's old mirror was for looking into. Well, this mirror came, I unpacked it, set it up and read through the directions. I was floored. Now I don't want to bore anyone with a long winded review, but you have to read this. First off, the mirror is top quality. The 5X magnification looks better then my wife's old 8X mirror. You can see more, and you see it with better clarity. The LED ring light is not a gimmick. It can get very bright, enough so that you can see the details of your face. Also, the light temperature can be changed. It has settings for daylight, office, evening, dinner, and you can even make your own. The light also has a sensor to turn it on when you sit down in front of it, and turn off when you leave. This is all possible with the simplehuman App for your smartphone. Install it, connect with Bluetooth and a lot of settings and features are at your finger tips. Like the lights white color tone, turn off time after you leave, brightness control, night settings and even a nightlight setting. It has WiFi so you can connect it to your Amazon account and use Alexa. My wife plays her favorite music and gets her news briefing when using the mirror. Some more amazing features. It has a proximity sensor that will lower the volume when you get closer to the mirror and turn back up when you sit back. There is also an equalizer to set the sound as you like it, and this sounds great. I really mean it, this built in speaker sounds absolutely great. Full rich sound with very respectable bass for the size. I know I sound excited being that this is a makeup mirror, but this thing is cool. I have it connected as one of our speakers in our Amazon account, so when we play music all over the house, this mirror adds great sound. My wife, and yes me too are very happy with this mirror, and give it 5 stars for great looks, fantastic lighted mirror, unbelievable sound and tons of very usable features. For all of its features and very high quality, this mirror is definitely a great value for the price.
