My kid is obsessed with pirates. I bought him this last year and filled it with chocolate gold coins. He absolutely loves it, since he ate all the coins uses it to store his leaf collection, and his rock collection.

EXPENSIVE for just a plastic chest but has key and lock so....
Pretty disappointed in this product. Very expensive considering it's not very big and made of light-weight plastic. If the person you're buying for is rough on toys, it's not worth buying in my opinion. The lock is not the easiest to get on.My four-year-old grandson found this item before I got it sent back. He LOVED it and BEGGED to keep it; he worked patiently as he learned to twist the key (not the easiest thing to do) and how to put on and take off the pad-lock (if yours isn't patient, maybe just don't use the key/lock) although he (and myself) were disappointed the box shows all kinds of gems and jewels on it but NONE are included for nearly $20. Pretty pricey but my grandson's joy made me add a star or two. My advice would be to search a bit to see if you can find a better one or a lower priced one....

Small and key lock does not work like it should
Smaller than what I thought but nice looking. Key lock was hard to open and close. Other type of lock was ok.

Very cheap
It’s a child’s toy so I didn’t expect much, but it is cheaply made and is not worth buying. It comes with 2 plastic locks with plastic keys. Both locks broke the first time we tried to unlock them. The lid and latch don’t align up so it’s just a matter of time before the thin plastic lid breaks off. Very disappointing

Has a lock!!
I was a little worried that of the three I bought (triplet birthday) this was looked the cheapest because it was plastic and shiny. My granddaughter got to the hidden treasure first and chose this one.The lock is a great addition so she can hide her secrets in here and not be afraid that her sisters will find them.

My kids love this pirate treasure chest. They play with it all the time I highly recommend this toy. The price is great for the treasure chest and your kids will enjoy it.
