These are very short passages with 1-4 comprehension questions for each. I am rating it 5 stars because this is a great resource to use when you are first showing students how a skill may look like on an assessment. There is typically not a lot of "digging" that needs to happen with these stories when answering the comprehension questions. For most questions you are able to go back into the passage and underline/highlight exactly what has helped you answer the question. They're graspable even for your below level readers as well because they're so short. Children aren't exhausted by the time they finish the passage. I will be using these whole group to introduce different comprehension skills, as independent spiral review, and homework.

Great resource
Our 8 year old daughter loves this workbook. The stories are short enough to hold her attention and the questions aren't too difficult.

Very good for comprehension skills!
Could have had more comprehensions in the book. Great teaching aid looking at comprehension skills while building up reading vocabulary.

Great skill building book!
This was perfect for my 8 yr old who needed a little extra help with reading comprehension. It has helped her quite a bit. I got it for her to use while on spring break.

Great place to start
Perfect place to start with your child when you introduce them to comprehensive reading. Short stories so there isn’t a lot to remember and just a few questions.

Good book.
I like this book. Not very hard but good enough to make them think. My 2nd grade was able to do it and had few questions. So not bad. But definitely not that challenging if that is what you are looking for.

Nice format
Bought because we really enjoyed the first grade edition so just moving up. I use this for my ASD teen for reading and comprehension practice. He does well with the easy questions.
