I received the book in good time and it was in excellent shape, however, it was the teacher's edition rather than the student edition. This did not really bother me, but since students were not supposed to ever have a copy, it makes me wonder why it was being sold to students in the first place. It wouldn't have bothered me to buy it, I just feel like it should have been noted in the product description that this wasn't actually the same book that I was looking for.Other than that I have no complaints and am very pleased with how cheaply I was able to get a book new that would have cost me twice as much to get used from the book store at the university.

This text was required for a public speaking course. My first impression was that it was written for sixth grade students. However, it actually proved to be very helpful. For example, there is discussion about body language and gestures for public speakers. The book gives students the most concise direction without a lot of unnecessary elaboration, which is more helpful than wasting time reading when the actual speech/ PowerPoint / handout(s) should be the focus. While the book appears to have somewhat of a political agenda, it didn't prove to be part of the course I took. Also, if a public speaking course does not require Connect Lucas, this edition is almost identical to the newer edition, which allowed me to save some money as well. Although, I suspect Connect Lucas can be helpful for those courses that utilize it.

Bought this version instead of the 11th edition and it worked great. My teacher had the new version and it was $142. This book was so cheap and the difference between the books were minimal. There is one addtional chapter but the book literally split 1 chapter into 2 so thats why there is one extra chapter in the book. So glad I decided to save on this book. Get this edition its pretty much the same. The only main difference were the activities at the ends of the chapters but overall good price and helped with my speech class.

I was very pleased with this item. It only took just a few days to reiceive the book, and the textbook was in very good condition when i received it. The item was exactly as described, in good condition with just a few minor marks such as highlighting or notes in the margins in a few places. Overall i was very pleased and will buy from this site again, it saved me almost 100 bucks!

I purchased this book for my speech class at college. This is a very good book and walks you through each part of the speaking process. It has great examples and helps with every little question one might have. It works well both inside and outside of class because it is so detailed. You do not need a teacher for each little bit because the book explains it so well.

Good book

This book is great for anyone interested in learning more about public speaking. I bought this product for my relative and she really liked the book, especially since she took a class on it a few months later. It was nice and I really enjoyed the book as I did take a gander at it, but I am glad she liked the book and ended up getting a fantastic grade in her class.Anyone who wants to learn more about Speech or is going to take a class revolved around it, give this book a try!
