Good value. Plenty sturdy. Easy to install. The short mast is a larger diameter on one end and a smaller diameter on the other end to accomodate different antennas. I have an old Cushcraft R7 amateur radio vertical antenna mounted on this tripod and it works great. All the hardware is included, but I used my own bolts to mount to the roof as I put additional 2x4's under the roof deck in the attic for more strength. Also be sure to use roofing cement under and over the bolts to seal the shingles back up to orevent leaks.

I live in a apartment, I used this tripod as a USA flag stand, I can't have anything permanent but the landlord said no problem to put it outside my own front door. It just goes to show how products can be used in different ways.

Great product

We got this tripod for our dish at our camper that we leave set up year-round. It's a full size DirecTV dish. We do of course have this staked to the ground but it has withstood very windy weather off the Tennessee River. If you already have a dish and you're just taking your box with you this is the way to go. We have since learned that some of the satellite companies will let you have an additional box and they will set it up for you for a minimal fee. Sometimes you never know what you are going to get when you order online but this tripod was much sturdier than I expected. It was more than strong enough for my needs. The mounting plates rotate to almost any pitch of roof. I am using one to hold my weather station. It works perfect and is very stable. It is designed to hold a satellite dish and I am sure could handle that job with ease.

Not a strong stable stand for large dishs

Compare to other similar tripods I encountered, the material and hinge are weaker (especially the rivet that hold the moving parts together). But overall, it does the job.
