Go with the touch dimmer instead
I originally bought this dial dimmer thinking that the touch-based dimmer would be the "cheaper-feeling" product--quite the contrary, it turns out the dial dimmer leaves much to be desired.Let me first say that my dimmer application was one I'd use at least twice a day for our under-cabinet lighting (which was also HitLights-branded LED tape). I turn it on when entering the kitchen around dusk, and leave it on until I lock up the house to go to bed. Many times with my previous (non-dimmable) lighting setup, I had wanted the option to quickly adjust the setting to a lower light level, and it seemed like a dial would be the simplest. And sure, it's simple. When you flip it from the OFF position to the very lowest dimmer setting (which essentially appears off), the LED tape lights give a quick flicker on before returning to off again--then as you dial it up, they power up gradually as expected. Also, the dial's dimming "curve" is not all that linear (as one might hope). If you're looking for a dimmer with a more linear dimming "experience", I'd go with the touch dimmer from the same vendor. It's a great unit, and costs about the same as this dial unit. I did a TON of research before buying, and yet still ran into this issue, so I hope this helps people in similar situations.

I bought 2, both not working.
LED Strip Light Dial Dimmer, Black - Easy DC Jack Installation, 5-24V DC, 4A Max - Simple PWM Dimming for LED Light Strip and Tape Light Projects in Kitchens, Bedrooms, and More I bought 2 dial dimmers and both don't work. They do not dim and even do not turn the light off. Watch the video.I hope the seller will get in touch with me.

Did not work properly!
I bought this to dim a strip of 2835 LED tape I installed as undercabinet lighting in my kitchen. I got all the wiring soldered and heatshrinked, then plugged it in to test, and imagine my surprise when it turned on....with the dimmer switch off. Turning the switch on brightened the LED strip to full, turning it off dimmed it to about 80% brightness. Unfortunately I had already cut the barrel connectors off and soldered it to my wiring as this was to be a permanent installation, otherwise I would've returned it immediately. Very disappointed!

Really useful when your lights are just too bright and need some toning down
This dimmer is awesome. I got a set of bright white strip LEDs to line the ceiling above the stairs going down into our finished basement. I didn't realize the lights were going to be so bright. On full brightness, it looked like a mini-sun with blinding light shining out of the basement stairs into the upstairs hallway. It really was rather comical. I needed something to allow me to easily adjust the lighting to a more acceptable level, and this was perfect. Just plug it in between the existing power adapter and plug for the LED strip, and adjust the setting as needed. It works so perfectly, and my stairs now have the perfect amount of light without being too bright.

Basic LED dimmer
I bought this to permanently reduce the brightness of some 12V strips I was installing. There is not much to it, but it works fine. The rotary can turn the LEDs completely off and has a large enough angle to provide enough granular control of the brightness without taking large steps. I imagine it would be good for most set-it-and-forget-it dimming applications. I imagine using it all the time would be slightly annoying, and if you have it visible, an eyesore. I have my LEDs connected to a timer.

Great little Dimmer switch.
combine with (niceEshop 10 Pcs 2.1x5.5mm Male Jack DC Power Adapter for CCTV Camera) and (12PCS Pack 2.1mm x 5.5mm Female CCTV Power Jack Adapter for 5050 3528 Flexible led strip use BY ZITRADES) for a 12volt battery Led system. The male plug adapters have to stretch the tubing on the female end on this dimmer switch, but all 3 together work great. This dimmer is even better for Led strip lights. lowest setting I could get it down to was about an average of 0.10 amps per hour at about 1watt 12 volt. (Triangle Bulbs 3528-IP65-White-60L Pure White LED Strip Light, Waterproof LED Flexible Light Strip 12V with 300 SMD LED)While the lights are in waterproof tubing, this dimmer I would subject to an area that could get wet or moisture, keep it inside, or in a airtight box if you plan to use it outside. Maybe for Outside you can use a longer cord that is waterproof with this being kept inside, with the power source.Either way this thing works great. If you plan to use this with a amp meter for best test results put the meter b4 this device, as this lowers the voltage as you dim the led lights. Putting it b4 the dimmer will give more accurate results as it remains 12volts.

Real dimming, good attenuation, inexpensive, works!
Awesome little dimmer! This thing handles long strips of lights and it really works, from off to dim to full brightness with an attenuation knob. Powered by DC, not AC, so keep that in mind, you will need an AC -> DC converter if you want to run from AC. Otherwise, if you're using DC already for your application (such as mobile, auto, etc) it will work right into your 12V DC equipment. I use min on an AC->DC converter from an electric outlet in my workshop in my field with some red light LEDs. Inexpensive and handles it!

Nice dimmer!
Nice sturdy, smooth twist to click off/on dimmer dial unit. Comes with inbuilt/inline male and female plugs for hitlights strips and wall worts. Runs my single color red led night lighting in my homebuilt corner cabinet really well. I keep it just past the stop at the lowest output possible and it's beautifully low current draw and low output for night vision preservation.

Cumple.
Cumple su función, regula la intensidad de la tira de luces led (que fue para lo que lo compré). Sin embargo, los cables de amos lados son sumamente cortos, así que es difícil ocultarlo. Sería bueno que estuviera disponible en color blanco.
