Our trainer recommended the Herm Springer Fur Saver for our boisterous (to put it mildly) German Shepherd puppy, already 95 pounds at nine months old. We followed directions, measured his neck, and ordered the 20-inch collar.20 inches is incorrect; the collar is more like 17 inches, and too small for our pup.It appears to be good quality; we got the 3mm version, though, and our dog is a puller. We're sending this one back, ordering the 24-inch version in 4mm.

I have always used Herm Sprenger chains for my dogs. Although they are pricier than those cheaper made low quality chains, they last forever and are high quality. You get what you pay for. I don't have to worry about my 110 pound German Shepherd breaking it if he tries to bolt on leash to chase a rabbit. Highly recommend.

Wild man on the left has the fur saver. It is breaking all of the fur around the collar. My husband calls it the fur shaver. **We put his old choker back on AFTER the hair broke off.**

This was the perfect size and weight for my male German Shepherd. The long links protect his fur as he is a long coat. It is very durable and is great for a strong German Shepherd. Love the black because it blends with his fur.

This is the thinner collar. I prefer the heavier 4mm links. It was a good price though. HS is always good stuff

We have a very large German Shepherd. These are fur saver collars because they don't break off the hair on the neck. Very thick rings to handle a very large dog. The only collars I'll buy.

Everything is fine except it fit way too snug, almost got stuck on my dog’s neck. It came 18” long when it was supposed to be 20”. I will be returning the supposedly 20” fur saver and getting the 23” fursaver instead. The quality is good though. This is my second time I’ve had to order this as well. About to order a third time. The 1st time the order got lost... second time it was two inches shorter than it was described as.. let’s hope third time is the charm!
