I have two large dogs and try to keep their nails from getting too long or sharp between the times they get groomed. Of all the devices I've tried so far (**detailed further down), this Peteast nail grinder is my favorite tool for that task.Pros:- Feels good in the hand and seems well built, with decent weight. Doesn't feel "cheap"- Two speeds. Low/High- Quiet motor, even in the higher speed mode- Plenty of power for my dogs' nails, without really bogging down. You can slow down or stop the motor with enough pressure, but if that happens to you with your pet's nails, you may be pushing too hard or doing something else incorrectly.- The diamond grit on the attachment has been working well for me as I trimmed my dogs' nails. It hasn't come off, and should last a while. Having used other diamond grit devices for sharpening tools, I know to use light pressure and let the tool do the work as much as possible. The slightly concave surface helps shape the nail and smooth out any sharp edges- The LED is very helpful for seeing the "quick" of your pet's nail. If you don't know what that means, please look it up, or you will end up hurting your pet. One of my dogs has dark nails, and shining a light through the nail helps me see the quick more easily and be able to avoid it.- No batteries to worry about! Just charge and useCons:- So far, I don't have any cons except the body of the grinder could be a bit more ergonomic - maybe a bit narrower towards the tip to be able to grip it like a pencil for better accuracy. Otherwise, no issues yet**In case you're wondering, I have corded and cordless Dremel rotary tools, two different dog nail clippers, and a curved dog nail file, all of which I have used to trim my dogs' nails at some point. All work fine for that, but have their drawbacks. Nail clippers are fast, but tend to leave sharp corners and sometimes break nail edges, so I need to follow it with the file or dremel. The curved file I have, which I picked up locally from a large pet store, takes forever to file the nails, so I rarely use it. The Dremel rotary tool does a decent job with the right sanding drum, but is loud and heavier than I would like for proper control that close to a dog's foot.

Make sure to register online for the 24 month hassle-free replacement warranty.The only drawback for me was that it did not come with a power charger, but any decent USB phone charger will work well. In addition, the device needed to be charged when I opened the box.Overall I am very satisfied with this device and the results that I had trimming my medium size pet’s nails. Fully functional and I would recommend this unit to others.

I bought this for our little timid Boston Terrier, She was afraid of it at first but did let me get her nails done :-) It is quiet and the grinding is smooth unlike the others I have used with the emery board type grinder head. I like that is rechargeable. The reason for 4 stars is, the one I received didn't have the light as advertised which was one of the man reasons I settled on this particular nail grinder and it only came in 1 replacement grinder wheel. I may have misunderstood the photo in the ad but it looks like it has 2 replacements. All in all it's a nice nail grinder and worth the money. Just don't expect the led light.

I have a pug that always acts like he has been possessed by a demon every time we try to trim his nails with regular nail clippers. In fact, it should become an Olympic sport because you definitely get a full-body workout. Anyway, saw the great reviews and decided to give this nail grinder a try. At first, his demon side showed, but quickly became angelic and laid there as we finished up all his nails. No more fighting for 20 minutes to do his nails. We were done in less than 5 minutes and best of all he acted like a sweet little prince. Guess I will have to go to the gym to get my full body workouts in now lol.The unit itself is surprisingly quiet. It was easy to use straight out of the box and the LED light really helps. It does make a bit of a mess (which was expected since this pretty much sands down the nail) but it's easily cleaned up. My pugs nails were pretty long due to my other clippers breaking and not being able to clip them down for several weeks. The grinder took care of it in no time at all. Quick and effective, that's what you need when you deal with a pug!

Love this grinder. I had been using nail cutters for my 10 year old lab for his whole life- he hated it and it was always a stressful experience for us both. The cutters left his nails jagged and sharp, and I clipped his quick more than once. The grinder is so nice! You take off a little at a time, and it makes it easy to round off the edges. It’s also easy to get close to the quick (to help the quick get shorter over time) without hitting it. It makes for a more cooperative experience with your pet: he lets me know when it’s getting uncomfortable and I can stop or switch to a different nail! For my 10 year old lab, it works best with the cover off, both due to the size of his nails, how hard they are and how still he can be while I’m trimming his nails. For my 4 month old puppy, it’s best to leave the guard on because he’s very wiggly, his nails are very soft (so only require brief contact with the grinder), and his nails are small.

Wenn man den Hund früh dran gewöhnt bzw. er es toleriert, ist das Gerät super. Weil bei dunklen Krallen die Blutgefäße nicht erkennbar sind, habe ich mit einem Knipser immer Angst, zuviel abzuschneiden. Mit dem Schleifen kann ich viel besser steuern, was wo abkommt. Für uns ein echter Gewinn. Es ist leicht zu bedienen, liegt gut in der Hand und arbeitet so, wie ich es erwarte. Ein Gerät, das gar kein Geräusch macht, wäre natürlich optimal, technisch wahrscheinlich aber nicht realisierbar...

This is a really great quality tool. It is well made and works great. I tought this would be a lifesaver for my dog who is affraid of every possible grooming tools and this one makes no exception. I was expecting it to be a bit quieter but nonetheless it is not extremely loud.
