I think it's a keeper
I haven't has this pad too long. I've slept on it two nights. I find this pad to be an across the board, very good value. When I received it I unrolled it, opened the valve and let it set for a few hours. It did not self inflate at all. So, I blew it up, closed off the valve and let it set like that overnight. When I awoke the pad was still inflated but softer than when I went to sleep. So, I topped it back off and went to work. When I came home it was every bit as firm as when I left it. I believe the foam inside absorbed some of the air bringing itself back to life. From that point, the pad has done a very good job of self-inflating requiring only an additional 2 full breaths to top it off to my desired firmness (which is firm). The pad has fully held its' firmness over both nights I've slept on it. The pad itself appears to be made of sturdy material and is not squeaky or noisy in any respect. The world around you will not be woken up every time you as much as roll over onto your side. I'm a side sleeper and the pad is very comfortable. I'm 6'2" and weigh 200lbs. I purchased the small version (I find 3/4 length to be what I want) which weighs 11 oz. and supplement that with a full length, 1/8th" pad which adds another 3 oz which brings total pad weight to 14 oz. Again, I find this to be a completely comfortable solution both from an insulation and cush perspective. At 46 years old, the ground seems to have gotten both harder and colder. I sleep very well and wake up rested with this pad. The weight and price are right. If it is a durable as it appears to be, it's a definite keeper.

Great for backpacking.
Ive had this one for a while, it works for me. Whatever side I sleep on, whether on my back or sides, i fit comfortably. I have a very petite body and this suits me. Great deal but Im guessing this wont fit for everybody.

Great packable sleeping pad
This is a tough review to write since everyone's sleeping preferences are so different. So I'll keep this review more focused on the features. Personally, I'm the type that can fall asleep anywhere, especially when I've been hiking all day. This sleeping pad air valve holds air all night long, and is quite comfortable for it's size. It's tough, I got a leak a couple years ago (thorn) but it was easily fixed with a patch kit and it's still going strong. I cheat a little and blow air into the valve before I close it to give it a little extra cushion. It also packs up very small which I love, it also does a good job of insulating my body from the cold ground. They offer the pads in a couple different sizes, I chose the small pad and I will tell you why. When you lay on your back or on your side on a hard surface your body is really resting on 4-5 pressure points (head, shoulder blades, butt/hips, knees and heels). I'm average height (5'10") and the small covers me from my shoulders to my knees. I roll up a jacket or something for my head and maybe a folded pair of pants go under my feet. No need for a huge long sleeping pad. Another thing is the space inside your (or your buddy's) tent can be a bit limited, and maneuvering a big long sleeping pad inside the tent isn't the most fun thing to do after a long day of hiking.

Leaked on first use--but excellent customer service
I had high hoped for this pad. Took it into a Zion canyon for its first use. Froze all night due to slow leaks despite handling it gently. I decided to return the product for replacement or repair. They repair it and sent me a $23 bill. I complained, they comp'd the repair. Unfortunately they mailed me back only the pad itself and not the pad bag or repair kit that I have included (with original packing) when sent back to them. I have other Thermarest products going on 20+ yrs old that havent failed. I'm afraid that this one is simply to fragile. We'll see if it holds on my next outing.
