Bead Jewelry Making for Beginners: Step-by-Step Instructions for Beautiful Designs

I'm a part-time hobbyist and a beginner at making jewelry for myself. I thought I could do it by looking at items I have purchased. NOT!!!!! For me, this book is essential. Now I can stop buying stuff that turns out to be nearly useless for me. I can now buy what I need and have clear instructions for making my jewelry.

The explanation of the tools used along with fotos was good

I’m not sure whether to give this a 3, 4, or 5 star review, because as an absolute beginner this was helpful but also was very limited in what it covered. I feel like it’s maybe best for an audience who is not only a beginner, but who also really just wants to string a few pieces of simple jewelry. The main thing this book offers that stands out is a good number of specific projects that tell you exactly how much of what to buy, and step by step how to put it together. I might give this book to someone who’s just curious about making a few pieces of jewelry (as opposed to someone who’s decided to embark into a jewelry making hobby). I actually prefer a less directive approach so i can just be creative. And, even though i’m a beginner, i also have a deeper and broader interest in jewelry making than this book covers. For me “ 200 Beading Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets” by Jean Power was a better fit, and if i’d gotten it first, i’d have looked no further (regarding stringing beads, anyway) since it covers stringing in as much detail as this one (though projects do not seem as explicitly directive), and it also covers wire wrapping, bead weaving and etc.

This book is written by someone who knows her craft. She outlines everything a newbie needs in a starter kit, practicing exercises and all jewelry designs in this book are rated by difficulty level and provide approximate time to make. I have an Etsy shop and have recently started getting into beads & jewelry making. It felt overwhelming and there was an entirely new vocabulary to learn. This book was a game changer for me. It is laid out perfectly, and a wonderful exercise and reference book. I highly recommend this book as f you are struggling with where to start your beading journey.

There are enough photos to determine what I need.

There’s tons of good information and nice projects to do in this book, but unfortunately they didn’t use photo quality paper for the printing. Because of that, all the photos look like something you’d print at home. That was a deal breaker for me. Bummer.

Great book to learn new skills and jewelry projects that are very unique and beautiful.

Excellent instruction book! Well organized, without wasted verbage on the history of beading or why you should do it, just straight to the techniques. Excellent full-color photos of both the materials and the steps of construction. The techniques are broken down into small steps, the projects are each well-organized, with a picture of the finished product and list of materials needed before proceeding with the instruction.

Ideal if you are new to bead making as the pictures and instructions are really easy to understand.

Helpful book for beginners with helpful step by step instructions and photos.
