Software update required
These are cheaper than others units because they are old models and a software update is required to work with new head units. After downloading the most up to date software to it, it is functioning perfectly so far.....

AXXESS boxes are junk
This needs to be fixed metra. The AXXESS units are terrible. I’m not one for making reviews because usually stuff works just well enough to keep me happy. But this is incredible (in a bad way). The AXXESS box is supposed to communicate with the car to create a switch power for the head unit. And that would be fine, If it worked. This is now the third time I’ve used these boxes. The first time the microswitch (mini relay) didn’t work. So I had to bypass it. The second time I bought a head unit with it attatched and it ended up going to a friend whom I believe threw it in the trash and Bypassed it. This is now the THIRD time that this box has not worked causing the head unit to receive constant power on the switch wire. I will be bypassing this yet again. If you plan to actually utilize the AXXESS box, pay a little more. And buy it in stores. Because as my odds have shown. You’ll likely get atleast 3 bad ones before you get a good one. I’ll include pictures of my wiring as to avoid the “he’s a hack” claims. The boxes are garbage and are a waste of money. The only thing this harness gave me that was any good, was the RCA leads to communicate with the amp.

Wouldn't communicate with Audi TT
Contrary to what Amazon and Metra say, this did -not- power an aftermarket radio I was installing in my 2002 Audi TT Quattro. First one I bought, Metra tech support said it must have been a bad unit so I returned it. The second one I bought, Metra tech support said it won't communicate with every Audi TT and I must have a car it doesn't communicate with (?). I ended up using the much less expensive interface, the one without the black box, and running a power wire to the fuse box.
