They are in a box, which I honestly think ups the appeal for LO, though they are also a great length with just the right amount of words on each page. I also like that there is a page in the beginning that tells which main sounds will be worked on in that book. This allows littles the opportunity to focus a bit and know what is coming, to a certain extent. I think it helps to know there are limits to what they will be asked to do, yet the pages are challenging enough to make them work to read. There are not too many words on each page and the books build as you move through the set and into the other available sets. We are very happy with these books and saw an immediate increase in reading interest when we get them. Highly recommend.

So proud!
My step daughter is in kindergarten , she has been working on sight words but doesn’t read at her moms house. My daughter is in 1st grade and reads every night so my step daughter was very interested in trying to read but couldn’t read the books my daughter has , so I ordered these to get her started on reading. She was soooooo excited when she got to our house and the books were there waiting for her to read. We opened them right away and she wanted to read them all in one sitting because she was so excited. We read 2 per sitting so she doesn’t get overwhelmed . Some days she wants to read 2-3 times through out the day. I’m so glad I got these! She loves them and is really learning quickly. Easy enough but also slight challenge for her which is perfect for a new reader !

Great for 1st readers
These books are great for new readers!! Have your kids read read read!! My now 11 YO read these every night in pre-K and Kindergarten and has been in honors ELA/Gifted and Talented since 2nd grade.

Excellent series for beginner readers, story sets which progress in difficulty level. Simple three letter word which will help child learn to begin reading. Got at great deal. Otherwise very expensive book
