McDavid Elastic Ankle Brace

Sock-like but provides enough compression for all day comfort, This is not a neoprene brace with a super snug fit that uses body heat to supplement its function, but rather a simple brace with enough compression to let you know its there. I use this one around the house mostly because I feel better with some degree of support beyond a sock while puttering about the house in my slippers, When I am more active, I will use a cotton sock first, then this brace and finally one of my neoprene braces for heat and compression. I find this combination to be the most effective for me without having to resort to braces with staves in them. Easily washable in the machine with no detectable shrinkage, discoloration or loss of elasticity. I have had mine over a year now with no need to replace them any time soon, By the way, I have a size 12 EEEE foot and this brace has a sufficiently large heel, mid-arch and lower calf opening. My calves and mid foot regions are very large from years of biking and pole climbing.

Love this brace, it doesn't have any elaborate straps, and slips on comfortably and securely, then keeps my ankle from twisting around or hyper-extending. It also washes well, and doesn't fall apart or lose its shape, and after it comes out of the dryer, it's back to its original size again. Inexpensive, simple to use, has longevity, and it's comfortable.*EDIT* I've been using this brace twice a week for soccer games since I got it, and it's still as good as new even after being washed and hung dry after each use. Wonderful product!!

Overall, I like this brace. It provides enough support for what I need. I badly sprained my ankle/foot over a month ago, and it still hurts and will give out/roll on me. So I just need something to hug my ankle and encourage it to stay straight.Urgent Care gave me one of these, in a size MEDIUM, but it cuts off my circulation as if it's a kid's size. In fact, my kid (who is tiny) wanted to wear it (loose joints), but it was too small for her (cut off her circulation)!!So I bought this one in an XL. I wear a lady's size 10/11 shoe, and my feet/ankle are pretty slender (if I do say so). The XL fits me well and doesn't cut off my circulation; it is supportive (keeps my ankle straight without me having to think about it); and I forget it's on. I do find the heel cut-out to be very annoying (it sort of cuts off the circulation of my heel), so I don't quite pull this "sock" all the way on, and instead allow the heel hole to sit under my heel (instead of around it), and that is much more comfortable.I almost wonder if a LARGE would fit (it would be nice to have a tad bit firmer support), but I bet it would be tight enough to bug me.So... 4 stars... yeah. If you have slender feet/ankles, then this should work for you. But if you have larger feet/ankles (in diameter), then I think you'll be disappointed because this will cut off your circulation.Since the sizing wasn't listed when I was looking to buy this online, here's what the box says (but in reality, these guidelines are WAY OFF):Small: Men's shoe size 6-9, Women's 7-10Medium: Men's 9-11, Women's 10-12Large: Men's 11-13, Women's 12-14XL: Men's 14-15, Women's 15-16

Been using McDavid Elastic Ankle Brace for years now. Still have the same one the I purchased years ago I just got another for family member. Brand new is really tight just keep using it to loosen a bit. Can be use with shoes for work or exercise.

PLEASE READ THIS WARNING!I wear size 8.5 men, so I purchased a medium. It fits pretty snug initially but be very careful with this.The first time I experienced pain was when I was wearing for a few hours while driving. Although the brace as a whole fit comfortably snug, the seams on the heels area digs into your heels. If only the seams were more flexible then there wouldn't be this issue.The second time I experienced pain (hurting as of right now) was when I slept with it to sleep because my ankle felt like it needed some 'readjustment.' When I woke up I saw a line of bruise on my heels where the seam line ran. Now I imagine my foot will be hurting all day long. It hurts when I walk. Stinging feeling.So if you wear a similar size to me, I would suggest you to consider sizing up, or just simply don't wear it for extended periods (but what's the point if you can't wear it extensively?).It's a good product, it just unnecessarily hurts.

I like it a lot, it is perfect for those over 40 who are still into sports.Don't let those young kids under 30 buy it, I would hate to see them having an added advantage in the basketball court over us seniors :)This product should be for 40 plus people only.Update on August 2015: So, I now have used this for about two years and basically own 3 of them. All purchased from Amazon. This will be my final review and I am only doing it because I appreciate this product for giving me the ability to continue playing ball.I have washed the product with regular laundry for last 2 years and its fitness and expand-ability is holding out. I use it once week to twice a month to play basket ball. Since using this item, I have not ever twisted my ankle. Maybe it is in my head but I will take whatever I can get these days. I don't know why I own three but basically when I'm on the court, I use two at a time on both ankles. I don't need it anymore but prefers to wear it for prevention as oppose to healing. Thanks for a great product. I will try your knee product soon and see if the same quality and result applies.

The ankle sleeve is very good. But I do have to say that i order 4 only received 3 and 1 risk band which i did not order but overall the ankle sleeve is great.
