Review: Two editions: One smaller - There are a number of reviews complaining about the smaller size of this book - how it is almost two inches shorter than the standard Asterix album. That's because there are two editions: The American version ( published by Papercutz ) is only 9.8 inches tall and uses the lame American translation, where Getafix is translated as Panoramix. The British version ( published by Orion ) is the standard 11.25 inch size and uses the British translation, where Getafix is Getafix. Haven't read it yet, so can't comment on the story - I accidentally ordered the less expensive Papercutz version, learned of the small size problem, and immediately sent it back unread to order the more expensive, full-size Orion version instead. So just pay attention to which one you are ordering.

Entertaining but the plot is similar to older issues
The successors (story, illustration, English translator) are doing a decent job but Asterix is just not the same without the original 'cast'. While still enjoyable, the plot has been used before. Get a second-hand version instead.

Great art but story goes no where
Usually an Asterix and Obelix adventure has many locations, situations and funny banter, this book had none of that. A girl is brought to the village, Asterix and Obelix are in charge of making sure she doesn't run away, but she does and goes to the shore. She gets as far as getting on a boat and then they bring her back and that's all that happens! Boring! The story also didn't feel like it really featured Asterix and Obelix, they get lost in with all of the other characters. I can't complain about the art though, it's fantastic! Conrad has done an amazing job of taking over the established style and the colors are wonderful!

Beware: Small book size
I wish I had read the reviews of two others before making this purchase. The book size is 9 and 3/4" by 7 and 3/4." For comparison, the normal size for Asterix books is 11 and 1/4" by 8 and 5/8." Otherwise the quality of the hardbound addition is good but nothing special. Obviously the publisher is trying to save on material and printing costs.

Excelente, estava com saudade das histórias do Asterix, adorei, apenas gostaria que fosse uma história mais longa e que a edição fosse no tamanho mais comprido.

The book is smaller than usual, looks really weird next to the rest of my collection, are they all going to be this small from now on or is this just a weird print run?

First time I order an Asterix in English. So not sure if this is the norm, but the book is way smaller than the regular size in French.
