Made for Amazon Motion Sensor for Echo Flex

This add-on for the Echo Flex allows you to create routines that are triggered by any detected motion. The motion sensor plugs into the USB port at the bottom of the Echo Flex. There is a small blue light on the left that indicates when motion is detected.In testing, the motion sensor seemed to work very well, consistently sensing movement at 15 feet or less. I was easily able to create a routine that turned some of my smart lights on whenever motion was detected. For the cost, I feel like this a great value; as the Echo Flex plus this add-on currently cost $40 total. Being able to have Alexa functionality in a hallway, plus the ability to trigger routines based on motion detection, makes this a super useful little device.Setup was very easy, as the motion sensor was immediately detected by the Alexa app when I plugged it in. Configuring routines is also very easy and straightforward. I would recommend this add-on for anyone that wants to add motion triggered routines, as it seems to work well so far.To set up a motion sensor routine:Open the Alexa app. Open the Menu (three lines in upper left), and choose "Routines". Add a new routine with the Plus sign in the upper right. Touch the Plus sign to the right of "When this happens." Choose "Smart Home" from the list of categories. Select "First motion sensor", and then "Next" in the upper right. Then you can use the Plus sign next to "Add action" to select what you want to happen when motion is detected. I chose "Smart Home" and then "Lights" to make the lights come on when motion is detected. Then make sure to touch "Save" in the upper right, and you should now see your routine listed in the Routines menu.If you have any other questions, feel free to comment on this review and I will try to run any tests or answer any questions you have.

UPDATE 12.10.20: I have to update my review to 5 stars now. I pulled out the whole Flex unit and let it reboot and I've had no problems with the motion detector since. So far I'm a few weeks in and everything still works just fine. I have it in 2 bathrooms and my garage right now and works as expected. Love it and will set up my remaining 3 units.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Bought 6 Echo Flex devices that came bundled with this motion detector. Set up 2 of them. Walk into my bathroom or garage and the lights would come on. No motion for 1 minute and the lights would go off. Perfect. Great. Grand. Terrific. Wonderful. A week later I walked through the garage, lights on. 30 mins later went back out into the garage and lights are still on! Unplugged the Flex and plugged back in to reset it. Walked by it, lights went on. 1 minute later and the lights were still on. I went to look at the one in my bathroom and same thing! Weird how they both stopped working on the same exact day!I reached out to them through email and hope to hear back from them with other things I can try to get these working again otherwise I'm returning all of them.

This add-on for the Echo Flex is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to add motion sensing to a smart home system. Just plug it in to your Echo Flex and configure routines based in motion in the Alexa mobile app. For my case, the motion sensor is being used to detect motion in our mudroom and turn on and off the lights in that room.Sometimes however, the sensor stops responding. It will freeze up and require a reboot. This usually entails just unplugging it from the Echo Flex and plugging it back in. Other reviewers have mentioned that the device has completely stopped working for them and I too had a similar experience. Even with the quick reboot, the device did not return to working order. So when this happened, I ended up leaving it unplugged overnight and putting it back into the Flex the next day and that seemed to bring it back to life. Maybe it just took a while for any residual memory to get cleared out by leaving it unplugged for an extended period. Hoping that tip my help other who are running into the same issue where the motion sensor seems to completely stop working.

This motion sensor is well-designed and works perfectly for what I am using it. I have it in the kitchen to turn the lights when I walk in and turn them off when no activity is detected for a minute. I appreciate practical technology which just works - "set it and forget it." I have smart home devices which I set 5 years ago and they still work. I hope this will be one of them. The scenes were easy to setup with the Alexa app. I like that I do not need to deal with replacing batteries and how seamlessly this sensor works with Alexa.Updated 12/19/2021 - Since I bought this motion sensor, it has stopped working properly twice - November 2020 for a month and April 2021 for three months. Both times, it was due to Amazon messing up with the software. After numerous customer service calls, chat sessions, and forum postings, the software gets fixed eventually and the device starts working again flawlessly.

Ok folks, like others I had some issues with the motion sensor failing to detect motion. Here’s how I fixed it: I switched my Echo Flex device to be on 5g wireless. That’s it. No further problems. Has been rock solid since the switch to 5g. I will update further if there are issues. Overall this product is great, and probably the cheapest and easiest solution to adding motion detection triggers to your smart home.

I purchased this back in May 2020 and it was easy to set up and routine was easy to create. Simple routine of turning on a light when motion is detected. This worked well, but now out of nowhere in November it stops working. I have tried to remove both the Echo flex and motion sensor and re-add them but the motion sensor simply will not work anymore. It now says the motion sensor is unsupported when trying to add it to a routine. Taken too much time to troubleshoot, so I gave up. Initially good product, reliability is terrible, as it lasted less than a year.Update Nov 2021I have changed my rating as it started working again. It took a bit of starting/re-staring and re-adding but it has worked for months now.

Tout à fait conforme, très facile à installer et fonctionne très bien.Je l'ai acheté il y a plusieurs mois et installer sur l'Eco-Flex de mes WC.Il m'a ensuite suffit de créer une petite routine sur l'application Alex de mon smartphone pour avoir la lumière de cette pièce qui s'allume quand on rentre, et s'éteint quand il n'y a plus personne.La détection de présence fonctionne parfaitement.

If you are unsure whether to buy this or the 2 pack motion sensor with nightlights - buy this one. The motion sensing on the other one is very flaky and unreliable (false positives) and it doesn't integrate properly with Alexa routines. This one has neither of those issues and although it doesn't have the integral nightlight it does what it does very well and reliably.

Lo aquirí junto con echo Flex para colocar junto a la entrada de la casa. Puedo programar que el pasillo se encienda al entrar o detectar presencia, que me salude cuando me detecte, o mil cosas mas. Incluso una alarma básica. Recomendado si compras el Echo Flex.

Does what it is supposed to do, and that's detecting motion and send signals to Echo Flex to process routines!!!Easy setup, just plug and play. I use it to detect motion for the hallway lights and garage lights to turn on and off and it works perfectly!!!Just a little tip if you do not want to wait 1 minute for the light to turn off, you can set routine to turn off lights with duration of "0 minutes", so as soon as the motion sensor could not detect motion, the lights will turn off immediately!!!

The media could not be loaded.  Insieme a Echo Flex, l’ho installato nel corridoio vicino alla porta di ingresso.Ho impostato una prima routine per accendere per 5 minuti le luci dell’ingresso e dare il benvenuto vocale agli ospiti, che funziona dalle 8 del mattino alle otto di sera.La seconda routine invece funziona dalle 8 di sera alle 8 del mattino ed accende per 5 minuti le luci dell’ingresso e quella del bagno, senza nessun messaggio vocale. Il mio piccolo cane fa i suoi bisognini su un tappetino nel bagno e quando passa davanti al sensore le luci si accendono per poi spegnersi dopo 5 minuti. Prima invece lasciavo la luce accesa nel bagno tutta la notte. Come avrete capito, con questo sensore gli utilizzi sono molteplici. Peccato che il sensore può essere collegato solo ad Echo Flex e non ad Echo Dot, altrimenti ne avrei comprati altri 2 per collegarli agli Echo Dot che ho in altre stanze. Installazione, collegamenti, configurazione ecc. semplicissimi e veloci. Molto soddisfatto.
