I bought this to use as a diaper bin and it's been a true blessing. Even with it filled to capacity we only smell the nastiness for the brief moment the lid is open. Otherwise you'd never know the horrors that awaited inside lol! It's been running strong on the same batteries since I bought it. Bags are easy to replace and the removable bag ring is fantastic. With the top back on the bag is secure and completely concealed. I'm not sure how much the charcoal filter helps, but my main concern was odor when the can is closed, and for that purpose it works perfectly! As an added bonus the unit looks fantastic!Update: I've been using this daily for six months or so and it is a workhorse! Still running on the same batteries I purchased when I received it and blocking diaper odor just as effectively!Update: So, after working perfectly since last November, a couple weeks ago the lid decided to give up on me suddenly and completely! I figured the batteries had finally died, so I swapped in a fresh set and nothing happened. No light, no movement, nothing at all. I almost decided to just write it off, but figured I might as well try customer care. I sent them an email with a screen shot of my original order and description of the problem. To my pleasant surprise I got an email back within 24 hours with an incident number and instructions to call in for service. I called in thinking they were going to want me to send in the lid, but they surprised me by saying their policy had changed and I just had to pay a $9.95 service/shipping and handling fee and a new lid would be sent out. They didn't want the old one back at all. Since it would cost more than that to just ship the original lid in to them I had no issue paying the fee. About a week later I received my brand new lid! I really can'take say enough about the quality customer service I received from itouchless. It was all very simple and because of that I'm leaving my review at five stars!If you found this review to be helpful please indicate so. I have only had these cans over a month and they are great! They hold so much trash. I used to have to throw out the trash daily. These trash cans hold two days worth of trash. I purchased the stickers separately on Amazon.

I've waited almost a year to write this review because I wanted to be sure this product was long-lasting. We have a tiny kitchen in our beach house and a tiny and weirdly shaped space for a trash can. I researched FOREVER (just ask my husband) and finally settled on this one. It fits perfectly in the space and has surpassed my expectations in every way. It's attractive and fits a TON of trash in a very discreet way. I love it.

I bought this trash can 8 years ago. At the time, it was hard to find any stainless steel trash can for an affordable price, so the fact that this was the most reasonable and it had the automated lid seemed like a pretty easy choice. It still looks great and works great.You can wave over the sensor to open the lid, or there is a button on the front of it to open the lid and keep it open. The lid does a great job of holding any odors in while its closed. Honestly I've never bothered trying to change out the carbon filters in it to use the advertised 'deodorizer,' and looking at the price right now, I wouldn't start either.Some review mentioned the cord not being included - there is no AC adapter, it's battery powered, and states that in the review. It states that the batteries last for up to a year, but personally, I find they last much longer than that for us and we use it regularly.Standard kitchen bags are used. There is a plastic ring inside that tucks the top of the bag in, so you don't have bag hanging out over the edges. It does a great job of keeping the bag in place even if you place very heavy items in the garbage.

I waited to review to make sure it works. After having a cheap plastic can with a lid that wouldn't stay shut for weeks I broke down and ordered this. It works. I just hold whatever is getting tossed over it and it opens. It also closes when you are done! The bad reviews about the bags slipping in are user error. Read the directions and install the bags properly with the ring !Update: It is about 5 months later and I still have not had to replace the batteries! And I open and close this can A LOT! Very happy with this purchase.

I just received this trash can with A.C. adaptor and it's not even turning on!!!I am so disappointed!!!Update ( 1 week lator)I contacted the customer service and they replied fast. They sent me a new lid with adaptor and now It's working.I am really happy with both customer service and trash can.

I know it’s a garbage can but I LOVE it. I bought 2 - one for trash and one for recycling. I love the squarer shape and can fit both side by side in my kitchen. It has totally helped my family actually recycle having it so conveniently located. (Yes they’re lazy.) The step cans never lasted in our house - always breaking so the automatic lids are great! The plug is a nice option but I don’t have an outlet near the cans so I use batteries.

The media could not be loaded.  Very easy to use. The touchless functionality makes this very appealing and even the kids are able to use it without making a mess. I think for the price it is great as well - it is automated which, not a lot of bins are, and I have seen many manual-push or pedal bins on sale for a lot more than this. It opens quickly and closes after some 5-10 seconds - perfect really. It is easy to empty and to change as well - just make sure to switch it off at the back before doing so. The filter ensures no nasty smells.So, why the 4 star? Well, I am reserving my full judgement until I have had it for a few months, rather than a couple of weeks as others have said they start to fail after a few months. If I survive that period I will bump up to 5 stars.

UNA SOLA VEZ!!El bote ya hace un poquito de ruido al abrir, pero supongo que es por el uso que le he dado, puesto que ha sobrevivido a uno de mis niños, el cual al momento de la compra del bote tenía 2 años de edad, y a mis dos bebés que en este momento tienen 1 año y medio de edad. Y como a todo niño, le llama la atención y lo abren constantemente a la fuerza sin usar el sensor...aun así, el bote está en muy buenas condiciones.Yo uso las bolsas Hefty de 13 galones con este bote desde hace 3 años. Cero problemas.En mi reseña original comentaba que se batallaba un poco en usar el sensor... la verdad es que esto es parte de la curva de aprendizaje. Después de un tiempo ni cuenta te das que ya dominas perfectamente la distancia a la cual abrir el bote y ya prácticamente nunca te vuelve a pasar que el sensor no reaccione a ti.La verdad sigo muy satisfecho con este bote y si se me llegara a descomponer, sin dudarlo compraría otro.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------RESEÑA ORIGINAL2018Pues andaba buscando un buen bote de basura, y digo "buen" porque ya me había cansado de los botes con pedal que terminan fallando al poco tiempo... el último que tuve con estas características (pedal manual) se terminó soltando el mecanismo y había que levantar la tapa manualmente además de que ya no embonaba bien. Entonces mi primera opción era comprar un bote con pedal que fuera de calidad reconocida... me encontré varias marcas, modelos, que prometían funcionar por un buen tiempo, y todos andaban por un rango de precio bastante alto. Entonces fue que vi algunos modelos de apertura automática, los cuales por unos pesos más prometían la misma buena calidad pero con la comodidad de contar con sensores para la apertura y cierre automático.El bote es muy bonito estéticamente, llama la atención. Consta de 3 partes, el bote, la tapa y un anillo que ayuda a la colocación de la bolsa, además de una canastita donde se coloca el pequeño saco de carbón activado para evitar malos olores.El bote: es de acero inoxidable, es muuuuy ligero. Incluso se siente algo delgado, pero no tiene mayor problema con uso normal diario.El anillo: es un anillo que se coloca entre la tapa y el bote, su función es acoplar en él la bolsa que uses (por lo tanto puede usarse cualquier bolsa, no te obligan a comprar una de su marca) para que quede bien agarrada y no tengas exceso de bolsa fuera del bote, lo cual hace que se vea mejor.Tapa: Esta es la parte que hace sentido al producto. La tapa es algo pesada, tiene los sensores y los botones como se ve en la imagen. Tienes que acercar la mano bastante al sensor para que la pueda registrar el sensor, pero esto no es problema ya que el bote es más o menos alto. Cuando la tapa se abre por el sensor tienes aprox. unos 4 o 5 segundos en lo que dura abierta, mientras parpadea un led color rojo. Pasado ese tiempo se cierra automáticamente sin hacer mucho ruido. Mientras la tapa está abierta, puedes mantener tu mano/brazo cerca del sensor para que la siga registrando, de esta manera la tapa se queda abierta hasta que el sensor deje de registrar algo. Cuando esto sucede, el led en lugar de rojo parpadeante se mantiene en verde, con esto sabes que la tapa no se va a cerrar. Además del sensor, tiene los botones "open" y "close". Al presionar "open" la tapa se abre y no se cierra hasta que presiones "close".La tapa tiene un switch atrás para encendido y apagado.Para cambiar la bolsa tienes que apagar el switch, retirar la tapa, y retirar la bolsa del anillo. Suena algo engorroso pero no lo es tanto. Sólo es cuestión de que verifiques bien donde colocas la tapa mientras cambias la bolsa, porque tiende a resbalarse si lo colocas en algún lugar que no esté del todo segura. Y obviamente si se cae pudiera sufrir algún daño en su mecanismo.Usa 4 baterías D (yo compré unas marca Amazon) y prometen durar un buen tiempo. Yo llevo usándolo 2 meses sin problema, no ha requerido cambio de baterías. Se supone que puedes comprar aparte un adaptador para conectar a la luz, pero no le veo el sentido, no creo que lo valga, dado que tendrías que comprar el original si no quieres que se invalide la garantía.Dentro de la tapa se acopla el carbón activado para prevenir malos olores. La verdad yo no veo que haga gran cosa, dado que al abrir el bote se puede oler la basura, sin embargo, la tapa se acopla perfecto al bote al momento de cerrar, lo cual hace que los olores se queden dentro. Así que mientras esté cerrado, no tendrás ningún problema de malos olores.En resumen, es un bote bastante bonito, altamente funcional y de buena calidad. Una vez que lo comienzas a usar, no vas a querer regresar a los botes manuales.En caso de presentar alguna falla inesperada durante el tiempo, actualizaré esta reseña.

Looking for a glitchy, semi functional garbage can that dies after 10 months and the manufacturer asks for a $20 processing fee to fix? Look no further than the iTouchless Deodorizer Automatic Sensor Touchless Trash Can. I purchased this item in December of 2017, come October of 2018 the lid (the only part that separates this from a normal bin) refused to open. I contacted iTouchless and found that they wanted a substantial fee relative to the value of the product to fix something clearly under warranty. Furthermore their ticketing system does not work (links sent in email go nowhere) and by opening a ticket I am bombarded with ads now.Regret not buying something with a foot control.

And they will not replace it either, a waste of money.
