I gave the book 3 stars (instead of 1 or 2 stars), because pictures and descriptions are reasonably good. My biggest complaint is that the book has such a limited number of plants. It is divided into half a dozen regions that span all of North America, then offers up only a dozen native perennials for each zone. There are much better, more comprehensive books on the topic available, including two of my favourites: Tallgrass Prairie Wildflowers 2: A Field Guide to Common Wildflowers and Plants of the Prairie Midwest by Doug Ladd, and Native Plants of the Northeast: A Guide for Gardening & Conservation by Donald Leopold.
