I was happy to pay a little extra to know that these blocks are made in Michigan (Go Blue!), non toxic paint, smaller company, yada yada. However, they are beautiful too! These are gonna last a lifetime, the quality is excellent. I also love how they come in a million different languages, I chose French.My baby (6.5 months) likes to pick then up and knock over the towers I build for him. The package says 2 and up and amazon say 3 and up, but I feel completely ok using these with my baby (supervised of course). He does like to put these in his mouth and the corners are not rounded off.One last cool thing...they stamp the date the blocks were made on the box...mine were produced just about 2 weeks before they arrived at my door! Cool stuff!

I was so pleased to find these blocks for our little boy. I am a former French teacher, so we are raising him biligually, and it is really tough to find quality French toys in the U.S. The blocks have animals with the words printed on one side, a number on another side (again, with the word), and letters of the alphabet on the other sides, including all of the accent-marked vowels. These are a valuable educational toy for anyone wishing to add a little French to their child's world. If you don't know how to speak French, find pronunciation help at [...] or a similar website. The blocks set has 32 included, so there are 32 different animals. Our little boy (15 months) loves to look at the pictures and hear what they are called. I would recommend supervising young children with this toy, as it is supposed to be for ages 3 and up. I noticed some slight splintering on a couple of the blocks, which we easily fixed, but that could be a problem if a little one were to pop it in the mouth.

This makes a wonderful and classic baby shower gift. I bought these for a friend (in French!) after buying myself a normal set for my son. The craftsmanship is spectacular. Very intricate carvings and detailed drawings. I love the fact that they're made of wood. We are started to try to move away from plastics, as much as possible. My son is still a toddler but I can see this being a great learning tool once we start getting into letters and numbers. I took off one star because, as another reviewer stated, the corners are incredibly sharp. I'm sure they become less so with time, but until then, it's definitely a small safety concern. I would love to see the corners ever so slightly rounded. Otherwise, great product.

My little one was trying to grab these before I even had the plastic wrap off of them, and she had a block in her hand the entire time she was awake for the next 2 days and has hardly stopped playing with them in 2 weeks since. She loves them the most of any toy ever! (She is 10 months old.) This is the greatest purchase ever. Although since she loves them so much that they are all over the floor, I have also found out how painful they are to step on. lol. Small price to pay for how much fun she has with them.

This was sold the moment my wife saw it.We're wanting to teach French to our kids, what a better way then with building blocks (to build one's French vocabulary...).Animals are artistic and old worldly appearing.Sturdy wood construction.

I was looking for something a little different than just another outfit for my soon-to-be grandchild. I know that things like blocks are a fantastic toy for kids--the kids do the "work", not the toy. I wanted something of good quality and this fit the bill entirely! The blocks are colourful, interesting, solid, and generous in proportion.I also appreciate that this is a North American product and creates jobs here. I am a little cautious about some products from PRC, especially if they may end up in the mouths of children.In a nutshell? Very happy with my purchase!

These are quite possibly the best alphabet blocks available. Given the price, I was a bit hesitant initially, but upon receiving the blocks, all concern was allayed. These blocks are hefty. The quality is superb. The detail work is unmatched in any other toy I've seen. Nontoxic ink, Made in the USA, exceeds EU and US safety standards. You can't go wrong. Support Uncle Goose, in my mind they are the gold standard for toys.

love these wooden blocks - an excellent size for one year old's hands. solid weight, but not too heavy. the colours are bright and each block has a mix of letters (upper case and lower case), numbers, and animals.saw these in a children's specialty store in san francisco, and ordered them from amazon.com because they were HUGELY less expensive here on amazon.love that they are made here in michigan. huge selling feature for me!
