Good Quality
I brought her to practice on my braids. I wasn’t expecting for the this mannequin to be this good in quality and even to combs are heat resistant comb which is hard find... I got lucky 😍

Amazing In All Ways
I was dying to hate this mannequin head based on all of the negative reviews. I didn't want to like it. I fully expected for this to be a disaster. But....It wasn't.This is an amazing AMAZING product for anyone looking to learn, practice or manipulate. Wow. This price point set this up for failure.....WRONG.Hair is very thick. VERY THICK. The smell is not good when I opened the box but I was happy to see it was lice free (I was provided mannequins in 2005 at Academy which were full of dead nits).I immediately trimmed the hair which was easy to comb and section.I wanted to hate this after practicing a color technique. I knew for sure that color and a shampoo would make me hate it.WRONG.This was easy to shampoo and condition. For good measure I did a comprehensive blowout and it was just as easy. I did use a leave in conditioner but even before application, it was just as quick to comb and section.MINIMAL HAIR LOSS.I LOVE THIS AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE A CUSTOMER OF HAIRGINKO!KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.THANK YOU.

I liked the hair right out the package. The length was as described and the texture is of a relaxed or straighten African American texture. However, it didn’t take long before I noticed the negatives. First, although, the hair looks thick it’s widely spaced at the scalp. The hair did shed slightly. Second the hair was really difficult to saturate with water. I tried washing the hair but it took about 5 or 6 minutes for the hair to feel wet. (This made me think that this is not 100% human hair throughout 100% of the Mannequin head. It may be a human hair blend.)Then I noticed that the quarter size amount of shampoo would not rinse completely out of the hair. I tried rinsing I for another 8 or 9 minutes. There were slight suds that would not rinse out. Finally, as I was blow drying the hair I noticed several areas in the top and sizes of the scalp area that had white dots at the hair roots. I’m pretty sure they were lice nits. After reasearching I learned that this could happen if hair isn’t properly deloused. That’s when I decided to return the mannequin. The return process was simple with no issues. I also got a chance to curl a section with my curlers set on 400 degrees. The hair curled nicely but the curls combed right out afterwards. Please inspect any mannequin you get. I’m not saying don’t buy it but keep the box just in case.

Buy it. It’s worth it.
Perfect. Withstood 400 degrees of flat ironing. Also survived lightening (w/20vol.) and a follow up of flat ironing. I would definitely buy another one.

Amazing texture & Density!
Im a current cosmetology student, purchased this maniquin head and so far I love it! Shampooed her and hair did not shrink, matt or knot up like the expensive ones that the school sells! I roller set her and popped her in the wig dryer for 30-40 minutes while I completed another one, the curls were so beautiful and defined OMG, I didnt want to comb them out! I love the texture & density and I did not experience alot of shedding like some who have purchased have described. I recommended her to all my class mates and the students in the new class. I have yet ro put a iron in her hair, so I cant comment on that, but I will update when I do. This was a great purchase and I will definitely purchase again for next semester!

This product is exactly what I was looking for
The hair on this mannequin is perfect. I purchased it for braiding and its just the right thickness and length for braids to stay put. The hair is soft but still course enough for the braids to stay pretty tight. I have not tried using a heating element on it yet but by the texture of the hair I think it will work great. The head was clean and the stand that came with it works just fine for mounting on a table or stand.

The description of the product is misleading.
I am very disappointed with this product. This mannequin is not a true reflection of the description. I purchased this for my daughter who is a cosmetology student, she tried to use a heating tool on this mannequin and the hair melted. The description states you can apply heat and chemicals. Currently she is only able to use the mannequin for hair cuts.
