Yes, the grid is on both sides of the paper.

How many sheets are there in each purchase?

The description says a ream (500) and that is correct. Loved the large grids! Hope this helps you!

Can I use it making dressmakers patterns in real sizes?

Yes! What a good use for it. If I'm not mistaken, the grids are 1"x1", so if that will work with your pattern, it should be fine. Please know that the paper is not a thick paper or card stock; however, once you get your pieces cut, you could always attach the grid pattern to card stock to reuse! Good luck and I hope this helps!
