What a fabulous kit! The Prime shipping was timely. I believe it came the very next day after ordering. All items were intact, there were no damages. Aesthetically speaking, I loved the box. The design was clean and modern. I had no issues with the items provided, they worked perfectly to create my soup dumplings. I did not have issues of splintering with my steamer as others had noted in reviews. I felt that the instructions were clear and concise, but I did have an issue with one step. One of the final steps that instructed putting 2 inches of water in the steaming pan was way too much. The soup dumplings in the bottom steamer basket were soaked and we had to toss them. I ended up using probably half an inch of water on my second go around and I had no issues. The recipe was great! The pork filling was amazing. I added gochuchang for some added spice. The soup was delicious, for added flavor I threw in a couple slices of extra bacon. The pork flavors the soup really nicely. I was also appreciative of the agar agar, vs. gelatin for a vegetarian option. I would really compare this recipe to the best soup dumplings I've had in Philly. I was very impressed by the flavor. I was also impressed at how easy these were to make. It took approx 4 hours from start to finish. The dough was extremely easy to work with and make. I did not find them to be gummy at all. The trick is definitely to roll them thin, as instructed. This was a lot of fun and a rewarding culinary experience.

Great directions to help you create a dish that you very likely wouldn't create on your own! 3 different recipe options to satisfy a variety of tastes and diets. The recipe was just the right amount of 'work' -- made you feel proud about the dish that you were creating, without being too hard to do. And the end result was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Great tools that will be reused in the future! I will definitely be ordering this again as a gift for friends and trying other options from Cooking Gift Set for myself too!

I bought this as a gift for my aunt, who’s basically a master home chef and cooks a lot. Since it’s pretty expensive, I expected it to be an impressive cooking product—and quality-wise, it definitely is. It’s well-made and comes with everything you need to make soup dumplings. The only downside is that it’s really tiny. You can probably fit three buns in there, maybe five at most. It’s super cute, though, and probably better suited for kids or smaller portions.

I’ve had this kit for a while and was a little scared to take it on. Dumplings, while beautiful and tasty, appear to be difficult. Due to this concern, I decided to pair this kit with an online cooking class. Let me tell you, this kit not only made it look easy but I can happily say I’ve used it three times since! The small roller is ideal when rolling the dumplings out. The wooden spoon truly helped portion out the filling and was much easier than trying to use a regular spoon. I appreciate including the paper to keep them from sticking. When I was done, my soup dumplings were tasty and filling!! This was just enough for two people and can be used for so many different dumpling recipes!

I received the soup dumpling kit with 3 recipes for Christmas. I lived in Taiwan in 2016 and I learned to make the dumplings there. This kit comes with everything you need and then some. The steamer itself is wonderful quality that I believe will last a long time. The roller, while not absolutely needed makes the dumpling wrappers so much easier to make and pleat. I loved the alternative recipes as well. They even inspired me to try some fusion recipes of my own. 5/5

Recently, while googling cooking kits, I came across the Cooking Gift Set Co. site and when I saw the soup dumpling kit – I thought it was brilliant. (There other sets are equally brilliant and rumor has it a French tart kit is in the works – be still my heart.) This brilliant kit has everything needed to create soup dumplings at home. Included is a small bamboo steamer basket, a two-sided dumpling dough rolling pin, parchment rounds, agar-agar powder (will transform most any soup into a dumpling filling), a bamboo filling spatula, and an instructional booklet to get you started. With a few additional tools (many that we already have in our kitchens and some fresh ingredients), you can be making delicious homemade dumplings easily! I consider myself a good cook with a well-stocked kitchen and I am thrilled with the contents of this kit and the easy to follow instructions! I love the smaller steamer basket and the roller is perfect for all kinds of smaller dough jobs. In a matter of minutes, you can be on your way to making perfect soup dumplings. I made soup dumplings from leftover wonton soup broth and they were incredible.
