😂🤣😂 I didn’t even realize.
I thought it a volume but it wasn’t although it had 3 short stories, it had a how to draw section , journal goals stickers but all in all not bad least it showed what happened to one person from the first volume. Sorry No Spoilers 🤪

Absolutely stellar!
I've read every single Berrybrook Middle School book up until this one and I simply adore those books. I simply adore these books. The characters, the world, the stories, the plots, EVERYTHING! Svetlana has real talent for storytelling. Reminds me of the slice of life cartoons from my childhood like Hey Arnold! and Arthur. So I've been following the series and buying each new entry as they come out, and then I stumbled upon this.As Raina Telgemier made a book about making your stories and offering drawing tips, Svetlana has now made her own, and that's what diary is. The book has small little activities for one to fill out, as it's also a real diary and memory book with prompts write where you write about your self and put pictures in. It also has little fun drawing prompts and she stresses that in order to get better at drawing you got to practice, practice, practice. And at the end there is a sticker sheet of the characters and fun quotes. But besides all of that, there is 3 short stories that follow characters Jaime, Jenson and Maribella.Jaime's story is him finding out Peppi has a crush on a boy named Jesse, and his annoying cohorts at the science club telling him that if Peppi starts going out with him, she won't hang out with Jaime anymore. It's actually quite enjoyable with an ending that will leave you begging for a part 2.Jenson's story is fictional story that he himself wrote and drew in his journal. It's about him and his friends traveling to a distant planet and fight against dangerous local organisms where one of his friends Olivia gets taken and replaced with a giant insect, but the real Olivia shows up and defeats all the organisms. It's pretty fun and shows you don't have to have super realistic drawings to make for an entertain story. I always thought Jenson should become a cartoonist, I think it fits his personality and talents more. And now we come to Maribella's story. Taking place after the events of awkward, Maribella has moved to different state into her Grandma's house. She now lives in a creepy small town that feels like it still stuck in the 18th century. Her school life isn't the best either as all the kids are mean to her(it's very sad). It's a not super long which is a shame and it makes you wonder where the adults are when the kids act so disrespectful, which I can vouch for as I experienced some of the stuff Maribella went through. Like Jaime's it left me wanting more, maybe Maribella will have her own book?Overall if you liked or loved the previous Berrybrook Middle School books, then there isn't a reason why you shouldn't get this, it's fun, it's cute and it leaves you begging for more after it's done.Another stellar piece of work by Svetlana Chmokova.I look forward to more!:)

Ok story
I read the first 3 books in this series and they were so good that I recommend them to lots of middle schoolers. The story in diary was fine but not as good as the others.

Book OK but blank pages disappointing
From my 10yo daughter who has read and loved Awkward, Brave and Crush; The book had a LOT of blank pages, about half the book. The graphic novel portion was good but I really with it was a whole book.😕

Love it!
Love the stories, how she teaches you how to draw comics, and there’s plenty of room to draw your own stuff.
